Hurricane Nichole
Update:
Buh-bye Nichole. Thanks for for knocking the the power out for six hours (of which, I slept through three). Just long enough to drag the generator out, cover myself in gasoline, start said generator...and watch the power come back on fifteen minutes later. Fuck you, Nichole.
Other than that, no damage...just a bunch more little tree limbs that the last hurricane didn't get. The power is still out at work, so I may have tomorrow off as well.

On the bright side, I got the day off from work tomorrow. *rolls eyes*
We're not really expecting much from this one...just a lot of rain and the usual chance of power outages. In other news, my county got a new solid waste contractor...who still hasn't picked up the pile of debris in front of the house from the last hurricane. At this rate I'll be staring at the same pile of tree limbs...in 2023.
As per usual, if said hurricane should decide to go rouge and put me in the dark for an indefinite period, I've got plenty of pieces scheduled for the coming week.

You may want to start looking into buying a small wood chipper. At least that way you can do something with the limbs that are piling up. Just watch out, as your neighbors may want to borrow it, followed by everyone else around you as each borrower, loans it out to someone else.
Ehh, I don't have a big enough yard to justify buying one...only on a little over a third of an acre and the house takes up half of that. Even if it was one of those cheapo Hobo-Freight / Tractor Supply ones I might use it, what, once every four or five years? S'what I pay muh taxes for. :P
stay safe. you can always draw a other time.
Here ya go again, eh? Maybe if you're lucky Nicole will get jealous of Ian and blow the debris into the next neighborhood, if not and the power goes out you'll have plenty of firewood for sitting outside in the evening. Hope it all works out okay. Stay safe.
Ehh, I've got one of those LP fire pits on the back porch. Real fire places are kind of a rarity / oddity in FL...and I'm too lazy to put a fire pit in the back yard. Power was only out for six hours and (yet again) it was some out of state contractor from North Carolina that got it up and running. I haven't seen any trucks from own power company out...in this hurricane or the last.
Stay safe
