Playable Demo: Rally Multiplayer Lobby Kit, a complete multiplayer front end for UE5
Screenshots can show a lobby, but not what it feels like to host a game, watch the seats fill, ready up and drop into a match with the countdown running. So here is the whole thing to play: the play hub, hosting with match rules, the lobby, a match with its scoreboard, the results, the server browser and the settings, all running in a Windows build. Download the zip attached to this post, unpack it and start LobbyHost.exe.
WHAT TO TRY
1. Play Online > Host Game: change the mode, the map and a few match rules, then Create lobby. Placeholder players take the seats. Chat, switch team, vote for a map and press Ready up.
2. Play the match: walk onto the capture pad, hold Tab for the scoreboard, press T to chat. When it ends, the results show the podium and take everyone back to the lobby.
3. Play Online > Quick Match: watch the queue and accept the match found dialog.
4. Browse Games: sort the columns, filter, open the details panel, then try Join by Code.
5. Got two PCs on the same network, or want to run the demo twice? Host in one, then Browse Games or Join by Code in the other and ready up together.
CONTROLS
Keyboard and mouse: arrows or mouse to move around the menus, Enter to select, Escape to go back. In the main menu, Y moves to the party and friends column.
Gamepad: D-pad or left stick, A to select, B to go back, Y for the party column.
In the match: WASD to move, mouse to look, Space to jump, hold Tab (or the View button) for the scoreboard, Enter or T to chat, Y for team chat, Escape for the game menu.
Windows asks once whether the game may use the network when you first host. Allow it for private networks.
The friends, party and leaderboards in the demo come from the kit's sample provider, with made-up names.
