Resources editor first look [work in progress]
As a part of the planned Economics update I'm working on resources generation. This is a first look on how Resources Editor may be implemented in the future. It's far from being production-ready, more like a proof-of-concept. But as the update may take months, I would like to start sharing the work in progress screenshots to keep the community informed and get an early feedback.

Looking forward to this when you have time for it again
Any news to share on this subject? Pleaseeee... :)
No updates as for now, sorry
Just so awesome. As usual this will add instant depth to my campaign setting and I can't wait to find the interesting stories in what's abundant where and what's scarce. Still my favorite project on the internet
Thanks for the feedback! The development is pretty slow as I have full-time job to do now, but it's still progressing so eventually will be done.
Very cool. When implemented would it populate on our old maps?
Yes, for sure
I'd love, coming from the dwarf fortress player I am, to have a sense of geologic layers in addition to resources. Ideally they are linked somewhat, but knowing if this region is mostly igneous or that one is primarily sandstone/sedimentary would be cool. I could see having such layers being very useful for placing mineral based resources - though correct definition would probably require a more geologically/tectonicly principled terrain generation.
It may be a bit too complex. We have limited number of cells representing huge areas, so I'm more leaning towards Civ / Colonization type of resource generation.
Is there a list of resources you're including or anything like that?
Not yet, but I'm going to publish it soon. Most are visible on the screenshot, there are 40 in total
