Allison Two Stage Video Going up
Greetings everyone. I'm putting up a video about the two-stage Allison V-12s that were built near the end of the war. This video is intended to serve as a prologue to the P-63 video that's going up in early to mid October.
It should be up within an hour or less, and youtube is going to run a test with two different titles to see how they perform.

Wouldn't the B-26 Marauder, make for an interesting video? That plane seems very well designed and i'm sure it featured technical aspects, which would be both informing and entertaing to be learned about.
Greg made and posted a very interesting B-26 Marauder video on YouTube. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syL8xXEQTW4
Greg: just looking for an opportunity to apprise of a what-if for the P-38. A plane we all love despite it weaknesses. https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/wi-naca-modified-p-38.419398/
Greg probably not the place but could you upload a link to the Google drive docs you have there i use android tablet and the last link I saw was years ago and I can't open it. Sorry
Great video! It is striking that with superficially similar supercharger setups, the V-1710 and V-1650 had such different performance curves. It makes it plausible that the P-63 just didn’t match the USAAF’s tactical requirements very well, but was a good fit for the PVO and VVS. I’ve read that the V-1710 in later F-82s was troublesome and usually downrated. Though this may be a case of a level of wear, tear & risk being acceptable in wartime but not in peacetime.
Greg! I am new to your Patreon channel but have subscribed for a couple years to your youtube videos. Great job! I am not sure what drives you but your content strikes a wonderful chord in me. My love of aviation started at a young age gazing skyward at the Watsonville Airshow perched on my Dad’s shoulders for a good look, then sanding ribs for a Hanriot HD-1 taking shape in a neighbors garage when I was 14, glider rides over Fremont a few times, an L2 lesson at Amelia Reed in San Jose and fast forward to owning and maintaining a 1953 Commander 520… I love aviation and am thankful for how you present the many ways in which people strove to solve issues with creativity, boldness and in many cases the urgency and haste of war. I am now a 68 yr old private MEL, IFR 2200 hour pilot that as Rod Machado once said… ‘still gazes up in wonder at a Cessna 172 flyby’! I appreciate you sir!!
Great job. Greg can't wait for the p63 video to go with this. Funny the air racers didn't take more advantage of the p63. Only a couple of them that I can remember. Bet if you put a water to air with ice water they could take it over 2600hp. Turbo tractor pulling engines don't run as long but they make alot more than that. And instead of gas run methanol you got something
P-39 & P-63 pilots were famously afraid of of crash landing, for fear the engine would jump its mounts, slide forward, and crush them. I hear this often. However, was this a rational fear? Did it happen, or was it just a fear not based in facts?
Turbo compounded Allison, Greg?
Can’t wait!!
Cool, Daddio.
I now have plans. Ty good sir
Love your work Greg. One of the rare gems on TubeYou ⭐
