Fifa 22 Substitute Investing
Hey Guys,
Today we are chatting about a method that can be utilized for both short-term and long-term trades! Substitute investing refers to users substituting a current player on their team for an alternative. This typically happens with the release of a new card via TOTW, SBC, objective or promotion!
In most cases, you see an opportunity to time the bottom a few hours after a new card becomes available. For example, when we got the Klaiber Showdown SBC, he was such good value that many people sold their current RB and opted to add him in their squad!
During the hype of the SBC release, many RB's bottomed out and rebounded to 5-10% profit after tax!
This trading method works well, but timing your buys and knowing the right players to choose is vital. Keep in mind, you are buying during a massive selloff, so sometimes cards go lower than you may think!
Tip: If possible, buying LIVE cards like RTTF, Headliners or OTW present some of the best opportunities as they hold consistent demand!
Now, how can we use this as an opportunity to invest?
This is a great question and one many traders don't seem to note. When a very in-demand SBC expires naturally cards in their same position will rise as well!
In this example, you can see that Gold Kyle Walker was initially hit when Klaiber released on January 6th. Oddly, EA released another extremely meta RB in Headliner Tavernier on January 14th. This absolutely shattered Kyle Walker's value.
Before these 2 SBC's Walker was around 55K and these diminished his value to around ~30K at the lowest.
Once these SBC's expired, you can see Walker had a natural recovery and it was substantial. If you invested near the low, you could've made 10-15K per card once the SBC expired!
This approach works best if the same position has multiple SBC's in a short period of time!
January 6th = Klaiber
January 14th = Tavernier
Here is an example of a quick flip following the release of POTM Calvert-Lewin very early in the cycle!
