500K - 1 Million Day Trading

Hey Guys,

With quite a few new specials cards in the game, it’s time we update our day trading list and I will separate these based on budget.

With day trading, you should be able to buy a minimum of 10-15 cards at a time. If you have 500K, trading with 100K cards is not ideal as you will quickly run out of coins. Instead, it’s better to spend less of your budget on more cards. When a card sells, you’re instantly able to continue looking!

Day trading can be called quite a few different things including trend trading, fluctuation trading, flipping, but it's all one in the same. This technique is revolved around buying cards on low fluctuations and selling at higher fluctuations that occur each day.

This technique is amazing because you are not reliant on EA at all to make coins and it's something you can do constantly. How many coins you make can simply be multiplied by time, budget and efficiency.

Let's start with the basics. Why do cards fluctuate each day?

Cards cannot stay one price all the time. The market moves based on supply and demand. At different periods, demand may outweigh supply or vice versa. This is best seen and utilized with cards who are OUT OF PACKS (OOP). If an inform has no supply and 10-15 get bought within the hour we should expect the price to slowly be moving up. People are buying the cheap cards pushing up the price. Other times, there are simply a lot less cards listed as there may be less people on the game making the cards more rare.

These cards move up and down throughout the day. The movement is usually pretty subtle, but it can look upwards of 10% each day. These are the cards we look for in terms of day trading. We're looking for a 10% fluctuation since EA tax is 5% that will leave us with at least 5% profit after tax, which is always the goal!

With this formula, no matter which cards you buy, you would make around 5-10K on every 100K spent!

For an example, let's say a card fluctuates between 50-57K each day. Overall, it's not much, but it IS enough to profit. If you buy the card at the low point and sell at the high you would make 4.1K after tax. This is on just one card.

In this case, we’ll focus on cards under 50K. These cards are just as good as any other and some may even find them easier.

Over the coming days, I am going to aim to post quite a few of these as examples to encourage you to try! I went through the graphs of 100+ players and these look the most promising for flipping.

Here are a few examples of graphs that look encouraging -

OTW Vidal consistently bounces from the low 40’s to the high 40’s! I added him to my rotation of cards to bid or snipe! My aim was the low point of his graph around 41.5K and I was hoping to sell at 45.5 or higher! I got a bid under that!

Remember, Futbin won’t record the biding prices on these graphs, so it is possible to get cheap prices on bid, too!

Now, a few of the cards above were SBC based and it seems silly they may fluctuate or be bought, but here is evidence people are still actively buying the,. It happens every year and I really can’t tell you why. Hahah.

Casteel floats between 37-42K

Here’s an example on Xbox with IF Kudus. I like him a lot right now with recent Eredivisie links, so he is bought quite frequently. I would aim to purchase him under 15K and sell towards 17K!

In the example below, I was using Muriel’s fluctuations combined with chem style and position change trading

People like didn’t even know that Cam+ Hunter was a buy but they add a lot of value!

Now, I want to talk about what other key events/trends to look for when day trading and how it impacts the card.

1. Substitute/Complimentary Trading

If a card has a sudden rise or drop it's likely not the best to trade with at that time. This can happen based on new SBC's or objectives. For example, when Alessandrini came out we saw pretty much all RW/RM's take a major hit in price. They all likely hit their "low fluctuation", but the issue is now they retain less value. This would not be a buy in this situation.

On the other hand, sometimes when a card jumps in price it's important to realize why. When Alessandrini came out you saw Rulebreaker Teixera rise around 30K, which would go well beyond his daily high. This is because a huge amount of people completed Alessandrini and demand>supply.

You can still trade in these windows, but it's a little bit more advanced and it just takes learning new pricing. It's simply important to note why these huge jumps occur.

2. Position Changes/Chem Styles

This one is massive and can add so much value to your trading. Daily fluctuations are based on ANY listings. Let's use Rulebreaker Podence as an example here.

His daily low is around 71K and his high is around 79K. These listings do no take into account position changes or chemistry styles. If he is position changed to LM it adds value. If he has a Hunter it adds value. If you buy him around the low of 71-72K with a position change or Hunter, you can likely sell him higher at those peak times, too!

As you get familiar with this concept, you can often have a few different buy prices for each card making finding deals even easier.

Maybe you know the low of IF Bamba is 22K so you look to buy ANY of his cards at that price. You could also buy IF Bamba with Hunters up to 23K and look to sell higher, too!

It's little things that add up the daily profit!

3. Listing/Lazy Buyers

If you get a low fluctuation on a card, I recommend immediately listing around the price you want to sell at. This year more than ever I see tons of lazy buyers. The market filters still don't work well especially on open bids. This can cause some bids to run high and people may just buy the next one they see out of frustration.

After every card I buy I list every single hour I can! If I am going to bed, I list for 6 hours overnight. That's how I recommend listing every day trading card to optimize profits.

4, Market Movements

The market follows some key patterns particularly pertaining to META cards. The META market is usually highest on Thursday-Friday and quite low on Sunday/Monday. This means you may have to adjust prices subtly during these times. For example, a card may go 5% under their normal low on Sunday. A card may also go 5-10% over their high on Thursday or Friday.

This schedule flows with Thursday rewards and Weekend League. On Thursday and Friday, a majority of players are looking to build their teams for Rivals and Weekend League. Once they complete their games, they sell their team leading to the price declines on Sunday.
