Hey everyone Luke here, I have finally put together the first months maps for the patron. On my last announcement I explained that I won't be painting any new maps (At least for the foreseeable future.) which at this point is mostly due to health issues but also financially it's looking like I might have to do something different.

Health-wise, it turns out it’s not just Beb who’s sick. I’ve been very tired for a long time, and while we assumed it was just sleep deprivation from having a baby and toddler, now we know it’s not. We’ve been blindsided by medical investigations that have me somehow also diagnosed with the statistically improbable. MCAS, POTS, Long Covid, and a connective tissue disorder similar to my wife’s hEDS. I actually have to do the same genetic test she did, unfortunately it’s looking like Marfan Syndrome is the most likely for me, then hEDS, or Loeys-Dietz.

It has been eye opening to see how differently these conditions can present, and the most likely thing that increased our chances of BOTH having generally rare conditions is we both sit somewhere on the autism spectrum (as connective tissue disorders, autism and ADHD frequently occur together). Autists often gravitate towards each other because they communicate similarly (logical and direct).

Given that many people who love DnD / Pathinder / TTRPGs also tend to be neurodivergent, if you have any unusual health symptoms please look into these conditions and consider getting a professional Beighton Assessment by a physiotherapist or GP who is recommended by the Ehlers-Danlos Societies or describes themselves as hypermobile aware. These assessments are deceptively difficult to do at home, we both got ours wrong initially, and non-hypermobile aware doctors also frequently mess them up (or so we’ve read again and again in patient forums).

There are however some red flags you can check for:

• Is your armspan longer than you are tall? Note, mine and my brother’s are, Beb’s aren’t, but we all have different CTDs.

• Can you do the Walter-Murdoch or Steinburg signs? I can’t do either, Beb can do one of those. So can her best friend, who is also an autist, and is also now undergoing investigations for her own connective tissue disorder as she has something, too. As is Beb’s other friend, AND our GP! It turns out we are surrounded by people with CTDs, which is why we are bringing this up. The link between us all is that we all get along because we are neurodivergent. If you don’t know if you are autistic, ask yourself if you have any autistic friends. If the answer is yes… well, let me put it like this. Beb had heaps of autist / “aspie” friends for years and always joked about being an autist before she found out she actually was.

• Do you have any piezogenic papules on your feet?

• Are you flat footed?

• Lots of stretch marks, despite no significant weight gain or loss?

• Unusually thin and papery (atrophic) or thick (hypertrophic) scarring?

• Soft or velvety skin?

• Do you consider yourself “unfit”? (I did when standing up made me breathe heavier, turns out that was POTS. It took 3 NASA Lean tests for us to diagnose with our GP, it is not always obvious).

I will also note, comparing yourself to your partner might lead to the wrong impression. I vividly remember Beb and I comparing our skin, and veins, and deciding they were not unusually soft or prominent. And now we know that is because we BOTH are actually not normal.

If yes to any of the list above, please do consider getting a proper Beighton Assessment done by a medical professional. Catching these conditions early can lead to longer lifespans, less pain, and better quality of life and health with proper management.

Anyway. Back to the battlemaps!

For the new system I thought doing between 100-200 maps a month is a good amount, it should take over a year or more to go through the entire backlog and at that point I'll probably just start from the start of the backlog again. I wish I could offer more to those who have been long term patrons who might already have my full backlog of maps but unfortunately that just isn't on the cards, so if you have these maps it's cool to unsub from the paid subscription, I appreciate you and thank you so much for the long term support, If you hang around as a free patron you'll still get updates about whatever else I'm up to (Currently working on a video game, when not working on getting all the backlog maps up on all the RPG websites).

So, each month will include the 100-200 maps including variants working periodically from 2022 to 2026 while aiming for 150ish maps per month. Older map packs also included some one shot adventures so I also included those where they exist.

Every map pack will include foundry as usually if you're on the subscription that gives foundry access. The $12USD tier will drop to $10USD as this tier will be losing out on a couple bits of content.

We'll be losing the map of the month and the ask for custom maps (as I won't be creating any new maps), and the additional 2 backlog map packs the $12 tier usually got won't be included anymore. Everything else will remain the same, but this is why it’s now cheaper.

I did want to mention that none of these maps are currently available within our bundles on our website, so if you already own the Quaratine Bundle, the Hardcore GM's bundle or the Biggest Battlemap Bundle ever, just know that these maps are all new for you. I'm working to get the next bundle ready and we'll get that up on the website when we can but for now. If you want more of our maps and already have all the other bundles, this is the place to get them.

If you don't like subscriptions, just wait for the website bundle, now that I'm not working on new maps I have more time and my focus right now is getting the website and Drivethrurpg etc stocked with all the maps from the last several years.
