I had a vision of scene with the players mourning the lost of a close npc or attending a small funeral of an for these maps, perhaps after having had them killed by the BBEG or other another threat they must then face. You could have assassins show up at this time to try and kill the players or even another important npc who is attending the funeral. Perhaps the goal all along was to kill a different npc who the BBEG knew would then draw out his real target.
Alternatively, the players might have been sent on a type of treasure hunt to track down lost artifacts they might need for their main quest with one of them being found within sealed caches with line the Shrine.

The Astral Realm of Change Core, is inspired by Tzeentch from warhammer 40k, I'd personally start the players in a temple of some sort for a fight against a powerful enemy who half way through the fight shifts the players to the above map, maybe distorting reality around them and having the temple crumble away revealing only the platform. Maybe the players need to destroy the core in the middle or maybe even just defeating the enemy is enough to return them home. In addition I made 2 other variants covering the themes of Nurgle and Khorn for those more interested in their aspects, unfortunately Slaanesh misses out as I felt the color theme of just mostly pink wasn't difference enough from the purple and blue to make it worth painting. Let me know if you'd have still liked that variant!
For the Astral Fortress of Key Map Variants, I had the Idea for a chamber with hundreds of doors with a magical key for each one that opened to a random plane but no matter what I tried I couldn't get the doors looking right. In the end I ended up just making a sole key slot for the magical keys that opened a gateway to a the realm connected to the key.

60x40 Multi-Level Floating Dread Necropolis (Subscriber Only Map, This is a Low-Resolution Sample)
Need this map FoundryVTT ready, with walls, lighting, & sound already done? Or planning to print it to scale? Subscribe for $1.5USD to download ready-made files & save yourself the time & effort!
I based the Floating Dread Necropolis off Naxxramas from WoW and thought it would be a cool location for the players to face off against a powerful Deathknight of your choice. Story I had in mind could be that a unnatural plague has spread through the kingdom bringing undeath with it, the players must take down the source and deal with it.
Perhaps they find a ruined town first full of zombies or other undead with clues that lead them to finally finding the floating Necropolis, forcing them to find a way up and make their way through it. Inside, they must battle through the subjects of Deathknight, students (mages seeking to become necromancers and other underlings who wield blades who seek to become Deathknights who have sought the path of undeath, as well as giant undead spiders and other horrors. Defeating the death knight could cause the Necropolis to crumble forcing the players to flee, or they might have to sabotage it's power source to destroy it once and for all.
Alternatively The Deathknight could be a Deathknight of Blood (Variant provided) instead of plague and you could change it so that it's spreading vampirism within the kingdom turning townsfolk against each other as they seek blood. The mages and acolytes into the Necropolis could be underling vampires with blood related abilities to boot!
Similarly you could even make the Deathknight one of Frost and maybe an unnatural winter is sweeping the kingdom that raises that the dead who freeze to it, and the players once again need to track down the Necropolis and put a end to it.
Lots of options!

The maps these past few months have been incredible. My jaw actually dropped at the Astral realm of change. Unreal.
Downloaded the Ruined Graveyard map pack, and have no idea how to actually upload the premade pack - map, walls, sounds, etc. onto the FoundryVTT from the file I downloaded... is there a YouTube video you recommend of how to upload the pack itself? Or instructions somewhere?
So sorry, here are the instructions! I'll try leave them somewhere more obvious: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h6Hu2ld40GI_CfHEmkvZDSHDvOKdtlDG/view?usp=drive_link
Where is the download link to access these maps?
Hey Ben, sorry about the confusion, I've got all the links at the bottom of the post now. They'll take you to your tier's backlog post and then from there you can download the month's maps from it's Google Drive link. So, basically, we're just updating the backlog posts each month now so you just need to check the same backlog post every month for the new links ~ Beb who is many fix Lukey's poor UX
