How much would you pay monthly for new Foundry VTT / Roll20 Ready 5e Monsters with 2D tokens, 50-100 Foundry / Roll20 Battlemaps, and a campaign sourcebook (available as 5e + system agnostic .PDFs)?
We want to make life easier for you lovely GMs, so we’re looking into getting our 5e 2D monster tokens into FoundryVTT, and now we’re also looking into getting our battlemaps and 5e 2D monster tokens into Roll20 as well.
How much would you be willing to pay for this as a monthly subscription - or, how much would you want to pay annually for x12 months of this content?
Note this Patreon tier also gets you all the battlemaps ready for print, and basic VTT jpegs if you want to import to other platforms. You also get a teaser of next month’s campaign and battlemaps before the month rolls over (like the 3D mini creators offer), so you can cancel before being charged if you don’t like the next month’s campaign.
So, how much would you be willing to pay? We need to learn what most of you would prefer, then calculate how many new Patrons we’d need to break even, should we go ahead with this. We can’t afford to lower our prices currently, but we can start putting our heads together about different pricing structures or getting more efficient / reducing overhead costs to make what we do more affordable. Thanks in advance!!
Any other thoughts, leave them below! Also, if you would pay for this should the monster mechanics be Pathfinder 2e, let us know too! And how much, please don’t be shy your honest feedback helps us do better and help more GMs by making what we make more available.

i join dozens of pateon pages for free and collect hundreds of maps , i cant afford monthly for all of them , but if i scroll though an artist i like and get some good free maps /tokens from them then i drop them a one time KO-FI of a few bucks . so you should always put your kofi link in your posts on patreon. also i like maps with side views of places to set the ambiance for my players, i animates some of my games for youtube under FIREWINDS OF THE SUNS, my newer ones are better. i play a space western game , a midieval fantasy game and a Old west game on roll 20 if you would like an invite
I don't play online anymore, I put a tv into a table and open the maps off my laptop for in person games.
I don't play online, so Roll20 or Foundry support is of no use for me. I print your maps and laminate them for my table. The "Uncommon Treasure Trove" is a good membership for me and I would stick with it.
I don't use Roll20 enough to warrant an additional monthly subscription. If your maps were offered a la carte I'd possibly buy them when I needed them.
Awesome, thanks for this feedback! We have a shop now for once off purchases as part of Patreon, but also our website and DriveThruRPG have great value bundles and individual maps (though I’m about 1k battlemaps behind on uploads 😅) ~ Beb
It's a cool idea for those who use Roll20 (I use free Roll20 for only barebones basic map functionality) and have disposable income, but I don't have $12/month to subscribe to extras I may or may not use.
That sounds really reasonable, thanks for the frank advice! So you’d prefer once off bundle purchases, or would a super cheap sub tempt you - like if we ever managed a $1 per month tier? ~ Beb
Can you please clarify the headline question about the number of maps - it reads like 50-100 maps per month - which is surely not correct. ????????
No, my husband paints a tonne of maps 😅 He does about 6-10 unique ones per month then makes a bucketload of variants based on those (he tries to make them as different as possible but the layout is the same). ~ Beb
Paying monthly for something I may or may not need is wasteful, I would buy a package of something if I thought it would enhance my game, but the subscription model for anything rubs me the wrong way.
Thanks so much for this! I’m catching up on uploading our more recent stuff to DriveThruRPG again, will keep this in mind and consider making more bundles!! ~ beb
Times are tough. Currently, I am a Yearly payer for Forger of Worlds at $6 per month. I make decisions on each Patreon I support based on my finances at the time. I unfortunately left 3 just recently because times are tough for me.
I’m sorry to hear that, they are definitely tough times atm. We do sincerely appreciate your support but also make sure you’re putting your needs first, no pressure to stay on once the annual sub runs out (or if you want a discount let me know, we’ll do the best we can). I have been talking to Luke about what we can do to make our content more affordable, as the key reason people are leaving I’ve learned now is a lot of GMs are losing their jobs or their financial situation has gotten rough with rising costs. One benefit of digital content is its scalability, so long as we can break even. With how tough things have been for everyone, and how expensive food’s getting, I definitely am inclined to try make what we do cheaper somehow. TTRPGs are so much fun and when things are tough that’s when we need more good things in our lives, like friends, family, and rewarding hobbies. Thank you for being so honest about this, I do sincerely appreciate it and will put my head together with Luke more. ~ Beb
I like to support artists but with the current economy it just not feasible to add yet another subscription... Also having a busy life with work and parenting limits the need for this type of content. Tip jar level is basically the how much I could afford. Otherwise, I just look for free content.
Ok, we are Aussies, tipping culture isn’t a thing here 😅 Does this mean between 0.50c and say $3.00? Thank you so much for this great feedback though, times are definitely tough at the moment and I am talking with Luke about how we can bring costs down. I’d rather make our work more available to GMs so it can bring more joy, than have us necessarily increase our income. Being a parent does make playing TTRPGs tough hey, at least when they’re little. Can’t wait until ours are old enough to join in. ~ beb
I don't play online, only f2f, so no use to me
We do offer a print ready battlemap tier for $7 with basically the same stuff. Sadly can’t sell physical maps, don’t trust someone else to do the quality control and because we’re in Australia, if we print here shipping to the USA would take like a month which us untenable T.T Wish we were eligible for a green card but I think we weren’t when we looked into it.
I DM and use digital battle maps, but this doesn’t make sense for me right now financially, and I have a good few months until my stockpile of free maps run out (some from you! that’s how I found your patreon). When I decide I need more maps, you’ll be my first stop.
Yay, thanks so much Will, flattered to hear u like our stuff! We’ll see if we can make it any cheaper before you run out of maps, otherwise don’t ever feel pressured! smart financial decisions come first ^.^ ~ Beb
Foundry vtt great but don't play DnD. So of no use to me.
I’m a tad confused, do you mean you want supplements for your specific system, system agnostic doesn’t appeal? Thanks! ~ Beb
I am looking to upgrade tiers as well once the annual sub runs out. So hope that helps. :)
Thanks so much Robert, hit me up if you want an extra discount when the time comes, we really appreciate the support ^.^ ~ Beb
I use fantasy grounds, so it doesnt appeal to me. I have been brainstorming and something I would consider paying more for would be a sightseeing effect. Kind of like a google street view of an area. It helps show the player what the area looks like from the perspective of the characters. Also, a recurring mega-map. Like a large city where you pick out landmarks and make maps for each one once a month. Then move on to another thing, maybe the underdark, so on and such.
Those are both really interesting ideas, thanks for sharing them! I’ll talk to Luke about them, see what he thinks! ~ Beb
Don't use Foundry. Don't play D&D or pathfinder (no D&D since 1993).
U play in person right? Ugh I still have to get back to your messages T.T so sorry! Hopefully start of next month after we meet the deadline, send me a nudge if I forget again! Patreon has an annoying bug where it’s easy for unread messages to be lost. Might have to funnel peeps toward email. All the best! ~ Beb
I believe a good percentage of us are working class, or otherwise skint broke.
I can relate haha, haven’t bought anything new in yonks (happens when u marry an artist ;) ). I’ll see what we can do about reducing prices. Maybe we could also look into something where we give away our stuff for free but are paid via hosting advertising for wealthier businesses, idk. Bleh. ~ Beb
I use Fantasy Grounds
Nice!
I only play Savage Worlds, table top with printed floorplans. So anything VTT /Forge/Roll20, or D&D/Pathfinder related is of no interest to me.
We do have a $7 tier that has all this stuff but home print ready maps, not the VTT ones. I wish we could manage printing physical maps but we don’t trust quality control done by someone else, and are in Australia so shipping to the US is untenably long (about a month I think). ~ Beb
Kind of the same.e feelings as stromguard555, maps are the main thing, I can Google images to use as tokens in roll20 and the variety keeps things interesting. If the maps have dynamic lighting and everything ready to go I would probably pay in the $5 range, if it's something I really wanted maybe $7-10 but if I can get just the plain map at a lower tier I am mainly paying for dynamic lighting and a monthly subscription add up fast for the rate I run games at. If there were good previews for the upcoming month and there a discount from what it would to up on DMs guild or drive through RPG then I certainly might hope in here and there to grab something I really liked.
Ok, thanks so much for this feedback James really appreciate it! We do try to preview next months maps with the campaign post, but they’re all the way at the bottom so maybe we need to look into splitting the posts. They’re defs cheaper here than on DriveThru for what you get, maybe our mega bundles are better value though but the maps are older (hoping to have a new 620 FoundryVTT ready map bundle out for $39 on our website soon). ~ Beb
Can we see some samples?
That is a great question, I couldn’t attach a pic natively to the poll or a comment here, so here’s a link to Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lHXs1b1gT_UCXKiDzd9XvO9ih-WDkRsD/view?usp=drivesdk
I like maps. I like to collect them for a rainy day. Can’t ever have enough maps. Tokens, maybe… though I have my own token boarders I clip images to communicate to my table if it’s someone/somethinf to talk to, avoid, or remove. Statblocks? Not what im looking for. In all honestly I have found ChatGPT to be very good at creating custom encounter tailored and balanced NPC statblocks on the fly, and formatting correctly for import into FGU, that I’ve stopped needing to research and archive statblocks for future encounters.
Thanks so much for your honest advice stromguard! Appreciate it. We will keep up the battlemap quantity then, for sure! :D ~ Beb
