Adding in my thoughts as well! Really love what you both as well as everyone else is saying. I look at the show like this. Yes Tani and Suzuki are the "main" couple of the show, but their story is really more of the framing or connective tissue for the other relationships. Them getting together acts as a catalyst for all the other dynamics, romantic or otherwise. For example, If Tani and Suzuki had never gotten together, Suzuki might never have visited Tani during his time working in the library and met Nishi. She then wouldn't have brought Yamada along to the library, and Yamada may never have caught Nishi's cute laugh. Sure Taira and Azuma already knew each other from middle school and were cordial, but without Suzuki and Tani getting together and then blending their friend groups, I imagine Azuma would continue to see herself as the odd one out in Suzuki's crew with Satou and Watanabe and Taira would have continued to just watch things from afar as well without engaging much. I think it's less about "What happens when two polar opposite people get together" and more about "what happens to everyone around the polar opposite couple" once they do. I'll add my additional thoughts on this in the other ep!

This might be a lukewarm take but the side couples are more interesting than the main couple just because we get to see the process of how they fall for each other while Tani and Suzuki were basically locked in since day one.
Honestly I agree don't get me wrong Tani and Suzuki are good but I'm just more invested in the other relationships lol.
