Episode 22 | Rain, Jellies & Goodies
Bienvenue Winded Voyagers! The Leucate festivities are over so we went back for more sailing out to sea. With more trial and error, now I'm getting a little more familiar with Galopin. The sea was littered with jelly fish that looked like garter belts for can-can dancers. And it rained like it never rains in the south of France, so we went to discover more goodies. As you can imagine, Mickey had to satisfy his love of food. He's been on a quest to find the best Fish Soup, and he may have found it.

Outstanding video, they just keep getting better. Looking forward to your adventures as you stray farther from home port.
Thanks Allen. I'm also anxious to stray further. It will take some time as I'm still required to take more classes, (first aid, lake navigation for the interior waters license and 1000M practical navigational experience) to get closer to having my license to stray.
Frig. great music. as usual. Mickey is such a character imo. A and M running from the law (coast guard) - sloooowly. I'd say about 2 knots? You to are having a blast.
Mickey reminds me of Mr. Hulot. The French character from his famous 60s movies. I was told the French customs like to inspect Swiss boats and bust balls. We weren't flying a national flag so to pass under the radar. Now that Galopin is officially registered Swiss, I'm expected to fly both national flags.
There is nothing worse than having an engineer involved. There is the numbers way and the real world way,I'm a real world kinda guy. Mechanic by trade, engineers can be a royal pain in the ass. I'm sure Mickey has only your best at heart.
He does and means well. He wanted me to explain tide calculations to him, and he had a hard time calculating in his square intelligence that the arithmetic was variable and approximate. He also wanted me to make Galopin stop or hover. "It's not a car with breaks on solid ground or a helicopter. Boats drift!" I tried to reason:-)
Gelcoat scratches acetone makes miracles ;)
Yes! I was annoyed I'd left black scuff marks on Galopin, and one of my neighbors who repairs Jeanneau boats said the same thing! And thank goodness it's true. No more marks!
