Sailing upwind, against current and nasty breaking waves in Force 7 gale  forces winds was the toughest sailing of my life. A real navigation  adventures that tested my will and strength. The infamous Canal de Sao Vicente in Cape Verde Africa is the stage for this challenge. A true test for any blue water sailor who wants to earn his stripes. An  experience, if you succeed that will be never forgotten. An achievement  that will always be respected. Indelible and permanent as a tattoo. You  can always say, "I sailed upwind the Canal de Sao Vicente in its wildest  fury and made it safely into Mindelo Bay".
