Episode 8 | Steering Off The Usual Course
Happy Holidays everyone!
We're back for more fun and discoveries here on Cape Verde. Many of you know my travelling philosophy by now, I like to travel slow to learn and discover as much as I can about the destinations I visit. Many sailors have come to Cape Verde then gone to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. I have chosen to stay longer in this island nation.
So we steered off the usual course and went for the unusual. Like going bar hopping with my friend Peixe throughout his neighbourhood. Then we go to explore a vast deserted beach. It's not that it's inaccessible, it's just that we chose to experience the sights on foot rather than from a car. And what a wonderful beachfront hike it is.
The island of Sao Vicente and it's people are opening up more and more. And everyday there is more I want to see. More food to try. More music to listen to. More people to meet. To all those sailors who want to rush off to the Caribbean... relax and stay a while!
Peace and love to you all for the Holidays. Your generous gifts have made this happen. Big hugs!

I like these episodes of little off-the-beaten-path discoveries and am looking forward to your future itinerary. Happy New Year!
Thanks Wolfgang. Yes, this is another world. You would not believe all the sailors who pass through and hurry to the Caribbean. Boy are they missing out. These islands are extraordinary. And the people beautiful. I too look forward to sharing my future destinations.
A rugged island with beautiful people, another nice discovery, thanks.
Very rugged indeed. We were away a few days to visit the neighbouring island of Santa Antao. Even more rugged and absolutely spectacular!
