Some more traditional stuff! All of Isabelle, for whatever reason she’s what I default to drawing when im in my sketchbooks or working with marker.

An interesting tidbit about the one of her in the blue jacket colored in marker—I’ve been studying this Japanese artist who posts marker drawings for years. I love the way his work looks, because it’s in pencil! But I’ve never understood how he gets the marker to not bleed through the pencil and ruin the drawing. I’ve tried contacting him, but no luck.

Finally, I was able to find a very old post where he talked about his process. He draws the sketch in pencil, then scans it in and prints a copy to color with marker, so there’s no graphite to bleed. I felt so stupid when I found this, but then I tried it and it worked! I plan on doing that more, but what a weight off to be able to do know that.
