The 1980s, Friday The 13th, and the appeal of parodying Puritanical Values

I've been trying to come up with a way to avoid falling down the rabbit hole of scrolling social media during my day, but still try to keep some presence that is transparent and authentic. When I go to post on social media in the midst of writing, it's usually because what I'm writing has lead to thinking about some off topic subject, and I thought I'd try recording some short videos instead. This is also an opportunity to put up some video content, which I've been reticent to do, without feeling like I'm being phony about it. I also thought they might be a good way for readers to get to know me, as a writer, a little better and present another avenue of transparency to the kind of relationship I hope to have with readers. I'll be posting them here on Patreon, unless I hear from enough subscribers who say they don't want to see them and would rather just have the writing itself featured here.
