: / I didn't see it but I felt it. Now I see it. Even her name is disposable. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WomenInRefrigerators
Penny is a MacGuffin.
Great to have you back! Amazing work, hope you're well.
This is what I thought about Penny, too. She wasn't examined as an equal character. And in the end, I saw her as trying to comfort rather than just believing in Hammer - she knew Hammer had his faults, as seen earlier, but just because someone has faults doesn't mean you don't expect them to do what they're supposedly good at.
your analytical talent continues to impress, ian. when you said the writers "are more invested in her death than in how she feels about dying" i had to pause the video because of how correct and hard hittingly correct the statement was. great job as always!
"..are more invested in how he feels about her death than in how she feels about dying”, to be precise. Yes, I had to rewind that part to appreciate how articulate it is.
niiiiiiice, I like this a lot. a good point and well-made!
"Don't get up my ass about exceptions. It doesn't make you interesting." Thank you so much for this short and reusable slapdown.
Was really expecting a twist where the video ends up being about covid-19
This is so good. Love it! MAWR! Yes! Great catchy little video but still with excellent observations and an obvious point. Well done!
Awesome work!
Co-vids is an _excellent_ name!
I'm not as versed in the works of Joss Whedon as most nerds, but I do enjoy what I've seen, including this movie. But from what I've seen, a failure to think through the implications of the writing and a reliance on immediate impact over cohesive themes is a recurring problem of works that he's involved with. Regardless, I enjoyed this video! Thank you, and I hope everyone seeing this is doing their best to stay sane these days.
This is fantastic.
