It still breaks my heart that “Blindspotting” hardly got any recognition for being one of the best movies of 2018.
That Brother's Keeper trailer is bonkers... I'd never seen it before, so thanks for digging that up. Sells the film so amazingly well in terms of the emotional impact it has AND in such a weird, offbeat way. Recognition bias is gonna be a hard hill for it to climb, unfortunately. I love the trailer playlist as one solution tho.
Seeing Secondhand Lions on this list makes my heart warm. I know it probably wont win over most movies people would put it up against, but it's one of my favorite childhood movies, and one I go back to when I need a pick me up from the depths.
That trailer is the most 2003 thing I have ever seen. Was waiting patiently for the "...But sometimes..." turn in the narration and it did not disappoint. It's got my vote!
Anyone else think of a bunch more recommendations while going through the list? Ian, I hope you've already seen Repo Man, Dark City (1998), and Brazil (1985).
Dark City (both cuts) and Brazil, yes. Repo Man, not yet.
I have such a profoundly close relationship to the Mortal Engines Quartet that I don't think I can ever bring myself to watch the film adaptation. but an innuendo studios look at it might convince me.
If you possibly can muster, please, please get us your thoughts on Tar in some form, someday.
Wild Tales is the correct answer.
The trailer looks interesting, I've added it to my watch list.
