School of Lust v0.3.3 Progress Report #5
Hi everyone!
It's been two weeks already since our last progress report (time flies when you're busy!), so we'd like to take this opportunity to update on what we've been up to.
As we explained in our previous post, we've had issues with the animator we hired, which delayed the release of the update. Right now, I (Lawina) am still finishing the animated scenes from scratch, although I can't fully commit to it, as I have other parts of the update to work on as well. However, the two most complex animations are now fully ready and the scenes implemented.
We've also been working on updating the animation software, which required substantial adjustments to the game engine. This will allow us to use the more recent animation technology, which comes with many new features. While these changes won't affect the gameplay in the upcoming update (although, performance might have increased, as we're using a new SDK), it mainly affects development, allowing us to create animations more efficiently. We will convert the existing animations to the new format as well in the future (especially if the in-game performance of the animations have been improved).
In the upcoming update, you will be able to access the City map. We initially wanted to split the new City map into several areas, but after some testing, we changed our mind, and merged it together into one City. The City is now quite a bit smaller, but it allows us to focus on each individual building instead. The City map also has an interesting fair going on. Here's one of the activities you can do at the fair (which will especially be interesting to visit after taking over the body of one of the girls):

We're doing our very best to release everything before the end of the month. If we can't implement all the animations in time, we will try to release a part of the update instead, so we won't make you wait any longer.

Is it safe to assume we will be getting a near complete version of the new update by tomorrow?
Im starting to have doubts. Usually they hit us with a final update. Ill say this though if they dont have something I wont be able to support them any longer. Its been 3 months and we still have nothing.
Hey Boner Games,Ok I have a suggestion For those who want the game now even though its 9 tasks done. Please Like so that the creators know that this is what the people want If not its okay i respect that people are waiting anxiously. So, I can't seem to raise violets romance level, I didn't get to 2 prior to being able to ask her to work for me. Is there any other way to raise it? It will not let me talk to her at her house.
You can give her gifts but there is virtually no point since dating issnt a thing yet
So by you guys not letting us wait any longer does that mean the update is coming by the end of the month ?

Will there be a point in the game when I will be able to increase my relationship with Violet. I'm on October 22 and she has been in the swing every morning and in her home rejecting my work offer at all times for weeks. I only have a level 1 romance with her and need a level 2 to progress to the next stages, but I never have the ability to approach her to increase the relationship.
When you go to her house in the afternoon you can talk to her. But it costs $ 5. Otherwise you can go to coffee shop and talk to her there.
what animation software are yall using for the engine? Have you tried looking at Creature.kestrelmoon? I know our animation department uses it to cut down on texture size and it looks like yall are using something close to it. Maybe spriter2d will work as well.
Hi Nohbdy1! Thank you for your suggestion. We've looked extensively on what animation software to use, before we started development, and we went with the lesser known Live2D (www.live2d.com), as it has features that the other ones don't (including Spine). It's a great piece of software, and it works very well for what we need. The only problem we've been facing is that our game engine is not (natively) compatible with Live2D, so we had to implement this ourselves, which turned out to be quite a bit of work. Cheers =)
