Setback on Purple Mass - WIP delayed
So yeah, SFM decided to completely corrupt my session file AND the automatic backup save file for Purple Mass.
LUCKILY, I made a manual backup at the beginning of last month, so not all progress is lost, but everything from that moment forward is now gone.
I definitely didn't need this to happen. Gonna take a few days off to gather my strength and then try to continue the work, this time being way more careful of course. I'm so sorry that you guys have to wait even longer for more footage.
Remember to backup your files properly, people!

I really don’t mean to be impatient, but I feel obligated to ask: if you lost about a month and a half of progress when your file got corrupted and more than a month and a half has passed since then, then where is the WIP? I would imagine redoing the work would be faster the second time around, no?
Im thinking the same in all honesty. Older WIPs also used to only be 2-3 months between back in 2024 but now it has been pretty much 5 since the last WIP. The project has also gone on for a few years!!

That sucks man, but I'm really glad you wouldn't have to deal with going back to square one. No worries, take you time, and deliver a product you're proud of!

Without trying to be a wiseass: have you looked into a nas system to store your data? I run a lot of them at work and one at home. Cheap to build, no monthly license fees and backup / snapshot capabilities that allow you to create automated backup from once a month down to every minute if you'd like to.
Mein Gott. I'm really sorry, friend. That amount of labor just vaporized has got to be pretty painful.

Shiit. I know how demotivating losing progress on stuff is. Glad you had a manual backup! Honestly, don't worry about rushing it. If you need to take a break, do a smaller project in the interim, I'm sure people wouldn't mind. Love ya work <3
