Install Instructions: Put the files next to the OLGame.exe
\Outlast\Binaries\Win64\OLGame.exe
Press Insert to open the menu and go to the VR tab to tune the Eye Separation and Convergence to fit your needs.
Note - While you shouldn't have much issues, a bug i haven't fixed yet, you might see flares from lights passing through walls. It's not a big deal and can be ignored.
Outlast has grain baked into it but there are mods on nexus that can turn it off.
You can disable Depth of Field off by
Documents\My Games\Outlast\OLGame\Config\OLSystemSettings.ini
Find DepthOfField=True under [SystemSettings] and change it to False.
Warning: this also turns off the game's color grading. That's not a bug, the two are tied together in this engine.

Hello I’m still unable to get this working with my headset even though I have the mod installed
I have to game show to images on my screen but I can’t see anything in my headset I’m on quest 3
Are you using any mods? Are you using virtual desktop or meta quest link or steam vr?
how to increase resolution? 30% of godlike in VD :(((
When I attempt to download your mod file, Windows Defender sees it as: "Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml" and blocks the download.

Well, I saw a gameplay video of Outlast VR with this mod: https://youtu.be/kzYIg11ftSA?t=2m24s It looks like when the notes screen is opened, it's locked to the headset screen, and when you're moving your head - the screen with notes follows every head movements exactly, instead of being anchored in space. In comparison, here's how it works in Outlast VR with VorpX: https://youtu.be/JPi0nketpBw You can press a hotkey to anchor the notes screen in space (aka enabling theatre mode) for more comfortable reading (by the way it also adds more clarity to the text)
Recommended settings for the game: 1) Use 2x SGSSAA on Nvidia GPUs (AA dx9 compatibility value for this game is 0x000010C1) – it will greatly enhance picture quality (helps eliminate aliasing jaggies, and improve overall clarity), it looks like SSAA, but at half of a cost. 2) I wouldn't recommend removing the depth of field effect, because not only it will remove night vision filter in the camera, but also will remove an intended camera focus effect. It's artistically way better to play the game with it enabled. 3) There is a proper way to greatly reduce the film grain to clean up the image. Without sacrificing texture color smoothing (because if you turn off the film grain effect completely a noticeable color banding on textures in the dark will appears). And without removing the night vision filter. In the game main folder find the "DefaultInput.ini" file, open it, and add this line to the end of the configurations list: .Bindings=(Name="F1",Command="Set OLUberPostProcessEffect GrainOpacity 0.5") Then, once at every game start, when you're loaded into your save simply press F1 key - it will greatly reduce the film grain effect, and the picture quality will become much more clean, while also keeping all intended effects at the same time. 4) If you're experiencing stutters, there are also some settings that can help. This and others useful tweaks to improve picture quality and performance can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/238320/discussions/0/846963710902292389/ I personally recommend to adjust this parameters: bSmoothFrameRate , MinSmoothedFrameRate , MaxSmoothedFrameRate , PoolSize , TimeBetweenPurgingPendingKillObjects , and to remove Motion Blur effect. See the article linked above for more details. These settings helped me to play the game silky smooth, with a nice picture quality, and without any things that could distract from playing.
