Google maps already has results promoting and everything in their app. Tesla runs Google maps and must already have all the APIs for this too, so it’s quite likely they’ll be the first to bring ads to their navigation

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole migrant thing. Yes, the conditions on the barge are bad and we should not be doing this but what is the alternative? Whether its people on the left or the right, nobody seems to consider the issue as a whole. I disagree with TF when they say that these people are fleeing persecution when many are arriving for economic reasons and claiming to be asylum seekers. This kind of take is unbalanced and is harmful as it pushes people towards a harsher right wing position.

The thing that still wigs me out about Dubai is that during the Dubai World Cup there were a bunch of tourism ads for the city, all of which mentioned "world class shopping". like, ok, the sort of person who flies across the world for Fendi belts is exactly the sort of person you want coming to Dubai, but you're still selling your city as a drier Short Hills, NJ with more ongoing human rights abuses

Women's leagues (technically a bit broader than 'women's' leagues in that they include enbies in many cases - as you might imagine, these leagues exist for the exact same reasons that women's chess leagues exist) include trans women for most major eSports. Most of the people I know on the league (rather than team or player) side of things wouldn't even consider such a ban. Can't speak to practices in China or South Korea.
