Dr. Robotnik’s Wild Ride feat. This Machine Kills
Jathan and Ed from This Machine Kills join the gang to discuss the long, terrible essay by Marc Andreesen about why AI will save the world. Part of his argument is that Marx was wrong because Elon Musk SELLS cars rather than hoarding them for himself. It's... well, it's something?

So the moral panics around previous technology were all correct. We just got used to the inhumanity and death those technologies created.
Riley, does it feel weird to say you have "patrons"? Makes me feel like I'm in the House of Sforza; this is not a complaint.
TF to make a fresco when?
I really enjoyed the episode but almost had it ruined by one of the guests constantly having some sort of scratching or tapping or w/e on their audio. I have no idea how they could have their own podcast and have something like that happen.
Sounds like a loose microphone housing or diaphragm on a headphone mic, it was pretty distracting. The sensitivity on it seemed a little off as well, missing the consonants of some words but that was very occasional. Audio gear IS awful to troubleshoot, but they should get whatever microphone they're using replaced.
"Marx was wrong because capital sells things to people" Marx was well aware of this facet of capitalism, he had a few thoughts on how the workers that produced the cars ought to be compensated...
The Machine Version of Infinite Love is 1000% a Grimes song
Either a milquetoast grimes tune delivered like a deathbed speech or a weirdly catchy Machine Girl tune with about 50 separate bdsm porn samples dotted throughout
Once again Alice being able to reference the American college sports I’ve been stuck around my whole life blows my mind, and I want to build a chair throwing machine for the Bobby knight AI
Jokes on Milo, Scandinavia is also boiling
Rotating the DVD logo in my mind.
Milo is starting to sound Australian. Becoming a real hoon
Ooooh, Beat the heat!
As the days go by I become more convinced that there is an existential need for a worldwide tax rate on nerds of 100%.
Alice’s hard drive is the greatest crossover event in cinema history
Just listened to the Oldsmobile WTYP yesterday and I was very glad to hear that Alice now has her hard drive properly installed
1:12:00 the Hitler particles are real, but also this is such projection. "Obviously my morality would never be niche and I'm just trying to say the truth, definitely not forcing anything on anyone!"
The Shodan gf is back on thanks to Dr Robotnik
Tragic or Comic, Useful or Andreessen Horrifying
Mfs really saw that Star Trek episode where they fought the war with computers and went “cool let’s do that”
So uuuhhh who’s gonna tell these AI guys that fanfiction already exists….
Yeah, but can you generate a new fanfiction that meets your very specific requirements in the most disappointing way possible?
Big Other is watching.
In the Goon Cave, jerking it to shadows on the wall cast by tim apple.

God rich people are so fucking stupid, hoarding is addressed in chapter 3 of capital as something pre-capitalist. None of them have ever read a real book.
Its so fucking annoying that the worlds most powerful people have completely smooth brains and can never be actually called out by anything because the ideology machine is so pervasive that most people genuinely think the manifesto is the most complex and thought out work marx ever produced. It bothers me so much that even reading a single book that tangentially references marxism is like a thousand times more connected to reality than anything these freaks have ever come into contact with.
You guys joked about running a grocery store by just buying stuff from other grocery stores, I'm currently working at a gas station where my manager has to go get bananas from the grocery store next to us so we stay compliant with California's SNAP food assistance program -Kyle
