His Majesty's Nectar Points Balance: TF Live in Leeds 15/5/23
The entire cast of Riley, Milo, Hussein, Nate, and Alice continued our Regional Authenticity Tour with a stop in Leeds, where we discussed a startup offering what appears to be a hypothetical alternative to the labour theory of value...with loyalty points. We also discussed the second part of a new book by Britain's most storied bibliophage.

Salt seems pretty obviously like it was going to be a crypto thing, but they took too long getting to market and couldn't work out how to do a crypto thing. Also "get paid a little in crypto" is just, something you can do without their help.
can't believe we had behavioral economics (people sometimes do things differently from what they say they'll do, but economically) challenge classical economics before we had behavioral politics (people do things differently from what they say they'll do, but politically) challenge columnist brain
When I heard SALT app I thought it was going to be about state and local tax deductions. 馃槱

Am I allowed to do start up suggestions? I used to work kind of adjacent to this which my colleague called Making unpaid carers become Uber carers. https://tribeproject.org/
This Goodwin stuff sounds like he read about More in Common's British 7 Segments but made it more racist.
"The generation that won't shut the fuck up" bit should have gotten a bigger applause, I feel like.
Salt sounds like an especially confusing kind of scrip. Where's an app going to fit in the company town to functionally trap me in?
I googled "salt app" without the quotes while listening to that part, and before the one you were talking about, I found (in written order): * Website, app store, google play and instagram pages for a Christian dating app named SALT * Some weird "for empowered women" budget planning app named SALT * A Swedish/Dutch full stack developer education program named < / salt > But the rewards program did show up just before the first business named "Salt" in reference to the password security principle. 5/5 SEO
For years people have been working for money and it has lead to generational wealth disparity, but what if they were working for points which could be exchanged for stuff? The crypto stuff was more substantitive
Taking ancient greek in school wasnt die nothing, i got a sensible chuckle out of that bibliophage joke
