The Prime Minister We Deserved: TF Live feat. Nish Kumar
We've done it again. We've subjected Nish Kumar to a terrible political book. However, rather than being a UK politician's attempt at literary fiction, we've instead delved into Harry Cole and James Heale's ill-timed work 'Out of the Blue: The inside story of the unexpected rise and rapid fall of Liz Truss.' And we experienced it with about 300 of you, at Backyard Comedy in London on February 20, 2023. Hope you enjoy!

Hey, I resent the Companies House thing. That's Cardiff, Swansea has the DVLA
The section about how Liz Truss impressed everyone in college while being wrong, is the same thing Nixon managed to do after losing to JFK & not even running in '68, he went around giving lectures on geopolitics & since he knew all the names of the people and places, what his audience didn't know. So it didn't matter that all the interpretations Nixon came to were wrong when looking at the actual context. Rick Perlstein's Nixonland page 132.
*Boomer take warning* whoopers should be banned from events such as this.
Felt like a miserable old man but nearly had to turn the episode off because of it. Good thing it was so funny
I hope she gets even drunker and becomes the prime minister again
This comment has aged quite well given recent episode discussions. 😂
this was such a fucking perfect live show
How is ep title not "snowmobile nonce"?
We have Pret in New York so presumably she could get it while meeting Ivanka in Trump Tower
Looked up Liz in Wikipedia and noticed that she is wearing the day collar in her official portrait
Whoever was constantly weirdly whooping in the background, if you're reading this, I bet you're an unbearable person to know
It's so weird!! Thank you for validating me in how offputting I found it
"Guest/Victim Nish Kumar!" honestly i feel like I've had a stroke after every one of these terrible books so i wouldn't be surprised at this point
I love the idea of Matt Hancock as a dark mirror of Liz Truss
good stuff
I have no friends and I'm awkward. But it could be worse. I could be lizz truss. Imagine that.
I am presently sitting in a maths lecture as i write this comment, there is every chance I am sitting in a room with the future worst prime minister of all time
Was an absolutely fantastic show, real shame the trains messed up Alice being there but was awesome to see everyone. Hope Nish has recovered from the trauma 😆
stunnnnning night, just listening again to hear Hussein ask hopefully if Liz Truss wanted to privatise the moon 🌝

People give americans shit for the pledge of allegiance (as well they should) but it is equally fucking cursed that Canadians have to sing the national anthem in school.
I don't know the lyrics to any national anthem, to hear Riley discuss sort of knowing the ones to "O, Canada" in multiple languages gave me the kind of existential dread you only get in the Americas.
Mark steers aka branden
https://youtu.be/XJI6RE2DK0E Just going to inflict the barbershop version of O Canada that told me I was late for class through high school in toronto
Nate is just sniping, every line fucking rips
A friend the other day was confused why I was kinda here for liz truss' return and her just becoming a backbencher stirrer now and This is why Rishi could never give us the snowmobile nonce ygm
You fools only Liz Truss had the will to follow the golden path
The ending part of Holiday in Cambodia but they’re chanting “Liz… Truss… LIZ… TRUSS…”
