Balthasar Speedboat MCXCVII feat. Alex Haddow
All riffs, no theme, pure vibes, first dates with criminals on the run, you name it. We've brought on comedian Alex Haddow to chat with Riley and Milo in this week's bonus. Hope you enjoy!

I surprisingly have a tie in to the El Salvador kidnapping part. My great grandfather on my mom's side was the South African ambassador to El Salvador and he was kidnapped and eventually killed. I think this was in the 80's or so.
Okay, Balkan/Eastern-European music in general and Serbian music in particular is horrifically catchy and hilariously lacking self awareness while being a musical earworm. I completely understand the Balkan obsession from purely a musical point of view.
i love the bit about the russian promoter who accidentally had the best 3-minute comedy set of all time yall gotta find the footage of that if there is any
That hotdog stand is the only place open for food on my way home and the half an hour queue for a shorty hotdog is the best people watching I’ve ever done
Balthasar speedboat my beloved
My version of the meeting a guy in the bar who introduces himself as a fugitive from justice story is also a story I can't tell on a podcast. I think this is what Marx called the dialectic.
did this have an introduction at all like am I sane or did y'all just fuckin launch into it
Balthasar Speedboat episodes don't have an intro and everyone gets introduced at the end of the episode. (Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know.)
As someone who lived in Serbia for quite a while i can agree that it is a terrible Place but you can get Cigarettes there for like a buck so there are some bright spots
When I was eighteen I got to go on a trip to Moscow from my home in California. Only realized when i got to the airport in Moscow that I had a large bag of hash in a side pocket of my carry-on I had forgot about. I panicked and discretely dropped it in a trash can. This was after getting a gun pointed at my head by security for taking a photo of the airport from the tarmac.
podcasters posting canned episodes, train drivers on strike ... there's only one profession holding it all up together at that point: bin men
huzzah!
