We Don’t Need No Edumacation ft Amelia Horgan

Amelia Horgan, author of Lost in Work and striking member of the UK’s higher education Union (UCU) talks about the decade of strikes in the sector, and why the demands are connected to a top level reimagining of what education can be. But first, we look at a few apparently unrelated goings on in Britain and peer into our scrying bowl to look at the outlines of this country’s political future.

I appreciate it a lot that you cover the land rover assaults for what they are. It's really a pattern that is developing at an incredibly rapid clip that car drivers are going agaisnt protestors, union picket lines, and just regular shmoes on the street and have the full and unconditionnal support of the state. The prosecution is almost always weak to nonexistent, and laws are getting passed to unambiguously exonerate the drivers in conditions so ill defined that they border on an unlimited licence to kill. And of course cases of legitimate defense against drivers who commit unprovoked revanchist assault systematically end up putting the pedestrian in jail.

"7 Sisters? Is that in North London?" That feels both powerfully and subtly Antisemitic in a way l've never seen a Goy pull off. If that wasn't an accident that guy is either Jewish himself or the next Richard Spencer.

I realized for a long time I thought Milo was saying "don't like it? Here's a dog" when in his British patriotism voice. I... I'll just go....

The really silly episodes, like the first half of this one, are so much fun. I lol'd at the coffee station in Wawa at this.

There's also the case that insurgency is always easier to do on the right since that's the default ideology of every capitalist state. Ukip became a success story in part because the media kept giving them more and more culture war fuel and encouragement, despite said media also trying to make out they didn't agree with them. Amazing what you can achieve when you don't have an entire ruling class actively trying to drive you into the wilderness with pitchforks.

To be fair, any cursory Google shows that France does supply some good quality milfs from time to time.

(Sir Keir Starmer voice) I think you'll find many of our constituents are vegetarian and would not in fact like red meat and for them we offer a nice low calorie salad or perhaps 5 crisps and a juice box.
