Damn Milo can sing.
love how the JV&TCH is already spawning fan work, seen some music videos, at least one punk cover and several extremely cursed nightcore versions of the tracks
i love putting this on in the bars i work
It sounds like early Blur! Splendid!
"Les mecs de poubelle" fucking got me. another great one.
This song bangs
Someone get Jeremy Vine on the blower we鈥檝e got ourselves a hit
Hell, from one musician to another, you'd be surprised what you can get out of a shitty bass with a little knowledge of effects and dialling in the appropriate tone for what you're working on. I've got a worn out USSR Jolana bass that I love (please show Milo some Soviet guitars to torture him when you get the chance!). I play that into a very obscure discontinued Ashdown bass head DI'd into my interface and I can get pretty much whatever I want from that. You're doing great either way and you're getting better all the time.
Low key this bassline goes real hard. 馃憣 Absolutely solid tone too. The Clogheads were already cottoning on to Brit Pop at that time, clearly. If only they'd stayed around a little longer, they'd have beat the shit out of Blur in the charts.
this makes me feel a lot better since that bassline was recorded DI with a very piece of shit cheapest-possible Yamaha bass we got on sale lmao
this reminds me very vaguely of the hit song kids by robbie williams and kylie
(nate here) lol oh my god, you have no idea how high of praise this is for me--i absolutely love that song
yes! yes!!!
I would kill for chord charts of this one especially but also charts for any of the other songs (I am very unemployed and considering killing time by writing jazz versions of all of these)
here's a chord chart for bin man rhapsody -- i'd have to go back and look at the songs to write out the other ones, but it won't take me very much time https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QEyL1-MHZ3oyr5UPJdYYTvjlrykl-H2zTd-7jBVgZfc/edit?usp=sharing
What does a lad have to do to get the tabs for this?!?!?!?
Does a chord chart work?
I'm already singing this around my apartment, in my American accent in America, where nobody knows what a bin man is. I'm dying to buy a Johannes Vonk and the Clogheads shirt so I can help build a fanbase here, with the eventual goal of a Johannes Vonk and the Clogheads 2024 American tour (which I will also want a shirt of, obviously, but one obscure novelty band tee at a time).
Well, damn, that was a quick turnaround time on my merch request! TO THE ONLINE STOREFRONT!
Nice work on the bass Nate, Clogheads rock.
I want a live set
This has been stuck in my head all morning, it鈥檚 so fucking good
Please put these on Spotify they are actual bops. Also idk if it鈥檚 just Milo鈥檚 voice and the references to British cultural phenomena but JV&TCH remind me so much of the band Los Campesinos!
The problem is they'd have to deal with the *other* Johannes Vonk on Spotify
Another banger!
In this track, JV&tCH really come into their own as a band. Johannes has found his voice, the producer Dirk van Svartfeijs brings out each musician's talent and the addition of saxophonist Henk Sch眉polisch rounds out the ensemble.
馃幍 Remember when the bin man 馃幍
bins mate
Outstanding.
Nate smashes it on the instrumentation too!!!
Milo has a good voice, stick it on iTunes for a bit of banter, see if the boomers buy it without a hint of irony
The problem with that is that all the Cloghead songs *are* completely unironic bangers, in addition to being prime musical shitposts.
Masterful! Daring! Provocative! Switchblades!
based
This rules, well done lads
Switchblade Binman (dir. Gasper Noe) 1994
Nothing epitomizes Britainology like a beloved Dutch group lamenting the decline of the Bin Men. Surprisingly catchy and good!
One day milo and nate will be getting interviewed on tv "we actually only did this as a fun hobby for a comedic bit on a podcast we hosted long ago we had no idea we'd become a seriousmusical act" following the release of johannes vonk's latest album which was another critical success
Yes鈥ES
Oh hell yes
Love bins, hate Wokeness, simple as. Now if you鈥檒l excuse me I need to go apply my shoe polish. I have a gig tonight.
