I can't find anything about LNG being used as coolant for British nuclear power. I think they use CO2 or helium, b/c flammable coolant is a giant logistical nightmare.
Oh, you meant LNG gassification was being used to power CO2 liquefaction. That makes more sense. God that's bleak.

Goddamn it Alice, our nuclear reactors are cooled by the *other* gas we currently have a massive shortage of - CO2, though luckily it stays in the reactor until you need to do maintenance, which, after the break of the pandemic, all of them now need. Weirdly, the CO2 is the part that makes them, in a way, good. But don't worry, we fucked up every other part of the design to make sure they don't actually work properly.

I work in the energy sector in Australia which has a similarly privatised system and you guys have barely scratched the surfaces of how maddeningly insane privatised electricity can be. Everything I learn about this industry makes me want to scream.
