Yellow Snow feat. @idahobones
Our friend @idahobones joins the gang for a discussion of how tech-inflected insurance companies dream of a heavily surveillance life for all, and also to revisit an old friend of the show, Softbank’s very own Lemonade! Prepare yourself for the revelation.

I’m a product owner myself and can confirm it’s sometimes tempting to shoehorn Agile into any area of life, sometimes with comical results. I will never forget the look on my wife’s face when I proposed a weekly refinement family meeting to prepare the next month’s backlog. Dropped the idea immediately.
speak the hungarian rapper at 23 minutes (so I can listen to that amazing impression on demand)
full pointdexter mode but what they did in hospitals isn't Agile it's Lean and JIT
One can, of course, be forgiven for mistaking the one for the other, since they tend to emerge in the same spew of consultant-gibberish when encountered in the wild. Often accompanied by other buzzwords like Kanban, 'stakeholders', 'flat organizational structure', and 'siloing'.
Ughhh Tracy
Christ I haven't thought about Speak in far too long
Love to make insurance pricing so complicated and opaque that you can only compare providers based on vibes.
But first, we gotta talk about... the Goddamn Mound.
An agile ceremony is one of the festivals of attonement we invented after the death of god.
A bunch of Reddit virgins are DEFINITELY gonna use this bot to suck themselves off. Probably fantasising that it's Grimes doing it.
'Dream of a heavily surveillance life' from epi blurb isn't grammatically correct, any other pod I'd leave it but c'mon this is the oxford one
How soon until we have Starmer-moan.wav?
When Geronimo the alpaca is finally slaughtered. We just have to hope someone near him keeps a microphone running to catch his reaction.
Just a few days ago, I was wondering what the mound was up to. Thanks TF!
Agile depends on a feedback loop. It is all about quickly adapting to new information. A political party does not have the luxury of shipping some broken-ass prototype and then correcting it. That's not how any of this works. This is quite possibly the dumbest application of Agile I've encountered yet (which is saying something, given how dumb almost every implementation of Agile is).
good guest... mound update... milo car corner.. Yes
My experience with agile is that its mostly a way for project managers to not have to think about the things theyre asking developers to make. That makes it perfect for British Labor, an organisation that knows it probably should have policies but knows little beyond that.
This was funny as hell, but also a really helpful conversation. The idea that these hacks are shilling is the death knell of socialism. Risk doesn’t need to be managed in real-time as long as nobody needs to profit enormously from it.
I finally looked up what the mound looks like and fuck me that is terrible. It reminds me off a model train sets scenery. It’s as though they saw NYC’s new park Little Island and asked ”how can we make this but shitter and uglier?”
Watch out where the huskies go.
