Who Fired and Rehired Roger Rabbit feat. Rusteen Honardoost and Nora Meek
It's the free one!
We spoke with Nora and Rusteen from IATSE, who currently negotiating with major Hollywood studios against the degradation of their careers by generative AI. But first, we speak about the purchase of Twitter (bad investment) and right-wing police abolition in the UK, in the form of a new company marketing how good they are at impersonating police officers.

And November is an expert at impersonating a police officer

Maybe you already knew this but I didn’t, while trying to find the AI animated series Space Vets to see it for myself I found out there was a BBC show from the early 90s also called Space Vets that is also about veterinarians in space and also features a talking dog, and I don’t think the people who made the AI show are billing it as a licensed remake.
Just imagining asking an AI to make SpongeBob hold a pencil for long enough to be funny but it was trained on stewart lee bits so he just holds it for three and a half hours
Private prosecution is a thing in Sweden but the British system is insane. Here it's basically impossible to get a conviction or even *bring* on in general even if you are a rich asshole. It's a thing that could be done theoretically but isn't doable in reality. The British system is trival which is very disturbing.
Rusteen p. Much summed up my irritation with ai in animation at 1:04:33. It's not going to work, meanwhile execs are going to ruin people's lives by fundamentally not understanding their own product, and then they're going to be overtaken by a fresh new studio that has the 'revolutionary' idea of making a show enterly by hand with no AI. Infuriating. And that's not even getting into the industry knowledge that'll be lost in that time.
I made the mistake of seeking out and watching the first episode of Space Vets. It is the first cartoon to make me think every single person involved in its creation is irredeemably evil.
charlie bit my finger adult is a thing now
i mean if you want to see somewhere where private security firms have in effect replaced cops is railway enforcement teams - greateranglias contractor Landsherriffs comes to mind - whose rights to detain/remove by force members of the public who breach byelaws often are very murky even to other members of rail staff (like me)
I'm a filmmaker and it's going the same way, because everyone needs to have a constant stream of content now. I used to be given a shoot day and 3-5 days to edit a 30sec video, I'm now expected to shoot and edit it all in 1-2 days.
Didn't you cover this Bobby's in season one. Also to be a former police officer, you have to have done something serious to be removed from the force
Probably just maxed out their pensions
vets as in veterans or veterinarians? you know what, I don't want to know
poopy
can we get a link to the mark o’connell (sp?) article mentioned about 49 mins in?
could we get the interview content animated so I can use it to help explain to my 6 and 4 year old that they need better taste in cartoons
This is extremely inside baseball so I don’t fault them for it not coming up but the unofficial animated mascot of this union action are two married guys so yes we finally have pro-worker yaoi
They’re Skibidi Adults
personally, i think the private cops SHOULD have to wear mandatory ye-olde blouses & flowery codpieces. if your gonna get privately tried for stealing tampons then the least they can do is give you the dignity of your persecutor having to have a bumflap on his pants that took three hours to lace himself into.

RoboCop was a warning, not a recommendation! RoboCop was a warning, not a recommendation! RoboCop was a warning, not a recommendation!
having worked in the private security industry for a few years ive found a lot of the newer outfits tend to try to make their employees look and behave like real cops as possible. whereas the bigger ones like garda and securitas are more just like "stoned dude who just wants to play minecraft in the security booth all day" versus like a wannabe cops that the smaller and newer orgs are trying to foster
like when i was with securitas one of my coworkers had an adidas track suit and empty plate carrier he used to store cigarettes but when i was with CCC my partner was a weird old dude who had 3 pistols on him and was pilled to the gills
Fwiw SpaceX and Starlink are the same company, not two separate ones... Though I'm not up on whether it's possible for a subsidiary to go public while its owning company is still private.
I want Riley and November (partiularly November), to talk about books I love. So very much looking forward to another Aubrey-Maturin.
Nova I thought *we* were the Slop Adults 😮
I did my SIA door supervisor license so I could work on stages at festivals. The training package included handcuff training, and I recieved a set of "police issue" style handcuffs
