The Invasion is in full effect, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, the current WWF Champion, looks to continue to lead his team of WCW & ECW wrestlers into SummerSlam. At Summerslam, Austin is set to defend his title against Kurt Angle. But tonight, Austin steps in the ring with The Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley, to take on Kurt Angle & The Hardy Boyz, Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy.
Also on this show, Perry Saturn is going through some troubles, as his precious MOPPY is stolen from him during his match with Raven! Perry gets the police involved. It’s that serious. Booker T & Shane McMahon call out The Rock, and X-Pac has an issue with William Regal, leading to a tag match with X-Pac & Albert taking on the returning Spike Dudley & Tajiri!
The WWF & WCW Tag Team Championships are both on the line on this episode of SmackDown, as well. The APA, Bradshaw & Faarooq, defend the WWF Tag Team Titles against DDP & Kanyon, while Sean O’Haire & Chuck Palumbo defend the WCW Tag Team Titles against The Undertaker & Kane.
Of course, we can’t forget about the moment on this show that’ll be replayed in video packages & intros for years to come; Rhyno attacks Chris Jericho after his match with Hugh Morrus, and GORES him through the SmackDown set.

Bruddah, lemme tell you, nobody is becoming a fan of anybody with these fuckass movesets 2k was applying to base wrestlers these days. Everybody has DDT4 and Vertical Suplex 2 applied in their strong grapple slots. 2k does the bare minimum with copy/paste year after year. I do remember Claudio and PAC having fun movesets in the games tho

This reminds me of the fact that in UK, SKY (television provider) used to air that weeks Smackdown on Saturday mornings....heavily censored. I just remember watching this on a Saturday morning, then running to my mates house telling them about it 😂. The gore through the screen wasn't edited though but god dammit your not seeing anyone get hit by a chair 🤯😂
