DEADLOCK Podcast #308 (Video)
March 30th, 1998 WWF Monday Night RAW is one of the most important episodes in history. Following the massive WrestleMania 14 where Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Shawn Michaels to become WWF Champion. The Austin Era has begun! Mr. McMahon opens the show and gives Stone Cold a brand new WWF Championship belt. He tells Austin he can do things the easy way or the hard way. Mr. McMahon receives the Stone Cold Stunner courtesy of the rattlesnake. This prompts Vince McMahon to call the local police and have Steve Austin arrested. Also, The Rock and The Nation of Domination turn on Farooq and kick him out of the group. The Rock is the new leader. Plus, Triple H says Shawn Michaels dropped the ball with D-Generation X and that he will pick it back up. 123 Kid makes his return to the WWF from WCW now known as X-Pac and joins DX. And in the main event cage match, the New Age Outlaws join the DX army!

I had some issues with Archive and ended up watching the wrong episode in advance so I was very confused when this episode started. Was expecting you to cover the Goldust does blackface episode
Johnny, you do a fantastic Luna!!!
So bummed that I watched the wrong episode for this. However, I did see Goldust in black face.
PANTIES PETE AAAHHH
Great episode boys! I remember this raw so well. 14 year old me was so excited for this raw after mania. I wanted to say i remember always hearing about Nitro plus. I would record nitro on vhs downstairs and watch Raw upstairs with my brother. 41 year old old head!
Im an old head. I dont remember the Nitro thing. 49yrs old. Probably the oldest dude on here 🤣
Thank you for covering this episode!
This episode definitely felt like the "official" start of the Attitude Era.
Best $50.01 I’ve ever spent.
More BWO Time Travelers are coming
Tennessee Lee was called "A Beautiful Volunteer" by Tony Chimel because he's from Tennessee the volunteer state
Yay!! Albany mention!
so the nitro ppv experiment was interesting, just rando backstage exclusive stuff. But for 5 dollars seems wasteful. HOWEVER years later if you had a satellite and manage to find the coordinates, and time it right you can catch dark matches and pre-show set up on WWF and WCW feeds when they do their tapings. Thankfully wwe vault has plenty of uncovered dark matches you can check out that fans got a chance to see back then.
I miss C-Band satellites!
I'm an old bastard; the cats who do the RE ECW stuff add the Direct TV Nitro Plus shit into their rips of Nitro on the places you can find those things. It's largely a few extra interviews / promos (and the people who promo are usually a lot more "relaxed") and then some bad desk commentary commenting on what we just saw
I can’t wait to have one Dr.pepper Two Dr.Peppers Three Dr.Peppers Four Dr.Peppers A hot dog Five Dr.Peppers Hell, maybe even the whole case if I’m feeling a lil goofy
STFU, mr pibb clears
Whoever had that Warhammer patreon name I hope your pillow is always cold and your ass is never swampy
And a Vulkan reference LETS GO
Hey how's it goin
I used to watch "The Best of Raw: Vol 1" almost everyday as a kid and this show is like HALF of that VHS. Billy Gunn doing the DX theme while hitting crotch chops is a vivid memory for me.
Time traveler Percy Watson is an insane concept, and that's the in-depth wrestling analysis that I come to this podcast for
This might be the greatest/most historic episode of Raw ever
Real weird story I was at my grandmas 87th birthday and these two cops showed up and kicked my ass???
I fear for my grandma on her 87th birthday
I've been waiting for you guys to review this episode for years. Essentially the start of the Attitude Era.
TONY IS COMING
OH MY!!!
Hard cut to Dan Severn walking down to the ring in a big ass suit was so fucking funny for some reason
When they shoot the Pyro down onto the stage, it’s on a wire thin enough and with SD television that you can’t really see it. It’s the same thing they used for the Undertaker‘s Pyro at wrestlemania 45, that broke and burned 45 people.
Sick! EDIT: Wait I didn't read it all, the second part is bad!
TONY IS COMING sounds like a threat
I want tony to come in me 😏😏😏🍆💦😩😩😩😩
LET’S GO!!!
A my GM drop and a POD. The boys are back in town tonight. WOOOOO
The cursed Big Eagle. Block logo and blue strap.
OH HELL YEAH
