Ishii will always be my favorite New Japan wrestler. No flashy spots. No promo needed. Basic attire. Chops, lariats, and elbows comprises 80% of his moves. Angry old bastard that takes no shit will always get over with me.
And the most important ingredient: his selling. No-nothing Fed fed marks think Strong Style is "no selling anything". 2010s Ishii had spots like the kick/chop exchange where he would have this little bouts of struggle with his body fighting against himself as he flinches & hesitates. His timing to sell was top-notch.
