The White House is Q Posting (E379)
The White House’s official twitter account went fishing this past week using “Q posting” as bait. They snagged a wild Travis View hook, line, and sinker. While posting about President Trump’s executive orders related to quantum technology, the social media team for the White House and the Pentagon seized the moment to post “Q is for quantum” memes, copy Q drop aesthetics, and parody QAnon slogans. We discuss this new era of government communications, in which trolling and QAnon fan service are used to amplify cybersecurity policy for speculative tech.
Once they get a good picture with Travis and throw him back, he moves onto the reemerging conspiracy that Charlie Kirk’s wireless microphone was rigged with explosives and the bizarre evidence some claim proves this theory. Then Liv and Julian discuss the world cup and what offsides means while Jake and Travis listen intently. Finally, Jake brought us a little dessert to top off the episode in the form of a “large animal chonker and their pilled to the gills parent”. Bon appetite.

Great episode! I have to disagree with the hosts though, I don't think that dog is very cute. Dogs with flat faces like that always seem really weird to me, and I think the human-like face makes people anthropomorphize them even more than usual, which as an animal lover I really dislike. He's also so fat I feel his "Mom" is taking years off his life in an effort to generate "cute" content. Gives me the ick

I always enjoy training escrima, but I wouldn't be cool being smacked by anyone. It's entirely possible to train at a safe distance and I don't think pain is ever necessary for teaching. The ep was a good inspiration to pick up the sticks again though!

another thing about the thorax resonance thing is that their measurement of 58 hertz is pretty close to the 60 hertz frequency of the power grid and a common frame rate of video recorders, so they probably just fucked up their analysis and didnt take those artifacts into account

Peanut the squirrel was euthanised in order to test for rabies, though it was negative. This was protocol, as a staff member of NY state dept of environmental conservation was bitten by peanut, as a result of being called out to investigate the unlicensed rescue centre. Euthanisation in case of rabies infection to a human is standard protocol. Euthanisation is the only way to check for rabies, as the brain needs to be dissected. If rabies goes untreated in humans in the early stages, it is a certain death sentence. There is no cure. As such, animals that are the targets of animal welfare and conservation, are euthanised in order to protect the human staff members involved with their care. Precautions are taken to minimise potentially infectious bites, but mistakes do happen. The report against the unlicensed rescue centre was made by local licensed wildlife rehabilitators, and by viewers of his social media account.

MIT and Harvard students have also created a quantum computer that can run for longer than just a few seconds at a time. The reality of the technology is an inevitably at this point.
