Our Life 2: Step 1 Promo Piece! (Sketch)
Today we have a fun look into the very cute promo piece we're making for Step 1! So precious.
It's a little hard to make promos for a game like this, with two main leads and multiple time periods to show off, haha. Ultimately, I decided to have fully separate images for each Step, but with the each character and the BG all on their own layers. This way it'll be possible to arrange larger group images with multiple time periods together (think the logo up top and then a smaller scale row of the characters in each Step along bottom), have these close up versions with just one time period, and make promo images that only feature one of the LIs. I think that's gonna work out much better than having a single image with everything crammed together and that can only be presented a one set way like we did with most of Cove's promo images.
And if that sounds confusing, it'll hopefully make more sense once we have completed promo pieces from multiple time periods and I can actually show you the mixing/matching designs.

Love how the second game is going to be even more inclusive than the first by introducing a female LI!! Is there any plans to make the MC also more customizable by include more disability representation? For example wheelchair or hearing aids?
Thank you! We do hope to include more options for MCs, but we're not sure if we can implement disabilities. It would be difficult to pick just a few that get representation, but it'd sadly be too large an undertaking to try including all varieties of disabilities. We'll keep thinking on it.
Cuutee!! I've been wondering, since the OLBA team is separate from the new OLNF team, is there going to be a different writer(s) for NF? If they are different, will it still be done in the same tone and style of BA? Will it be the same tone and style even with the same writer? Thank you, regardless!
There will be different writers, but I'll still be the creative director and main editor like I was in OL1 and my goal was to have that game feel consistent between multiple people working on it. So OL2 will also have that same kind of tone/vibe!
I don't really understand the explanation of what the promo is going to look like, but I know it will look great! 👍🏽 Also, I'm looking forward to this game. I think the only other in-development game that has me this hype is Dragon Age 4. 😄
