Our Life: Beta Build 0.78! (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android)
Happy September everyone! We're really coming up on the end of the main development period. It's so crazy. But we're not there yet and for now we've got another beta build. This one is definitely bigger and better than the last. Sadly, there's been a hold up on the Android version, but we'll get it out as soon as it's workable.
New Content:
320,000 words in total
Part 3 of the Step 3 opening has been added
The Step 3 Moment "Drive" is now playable
It's recommended that you play Step 1 Sleepover and Step 2 Road Trip in this beta, even if you've gone through them in prior builds. It gets you something fun in the end, haha
Lee's sprite was added
The custom phone was added
Some errors were fixed from before
If you're at Fond or Crush during Step 2, the fourth level of relationship (Love), can be unlocked during Step 3. If you were indifferent during Step 2 then Crush will still be the highest option.
What's Missing:
A fully functional choice-based Cove for Step 3, please use the Cove Customization Screen to determine things for now
The transitional narration between Steps 2 and 3
Getting to customize the appearance of the bedroom in Step 3
Known Errors:
The phone screen sometimes comes in and out of view weirdly, also sometimes there's not enough room in the text bubble for all the text
When text appears top down from the center screen sometimes it's formatted in a strange way
Saves from the old beta or the public demo will have errors if used with the new version. Please start a brand new file!
New events don't have voice acting for most characters yet
If you run into any kind of error report screen, hitting the Ignore option once or twice will generally let the game continue past that point.

I didn't know how I'd feel about Baxter because I loved Cove and Derek so much I really didn't think I could but wow. Baxter won me over.

I love Baxter's personality! he's a bit obtrusive, but at the same time charming. I think I wanted to punch him a few times, but it was easy to forgive him. The road trip with Cove at the end was epic! I died! I honestly died. took the poor boy 10 years to realize he was always put on the floor for sleepovers XD Overall it was a great update! I really love it <3

Aaaa I have so much to say! I foolishly thought Baxter was going to be the highlight of this update... every second is a highlight! Baxter won me over long ago but now I'm completely sold and smitten 💙 The moment was just the definition of adorable. Seeing Kyra is always a treat and so is giving Cove some well deserved affection ^^ He's in so many ways grown up and in so many ways the same baby we know. Also as one of many that has struggled with the pressure of pursuing further education it's so refreshing to see Cove take things his own pace. That's the kind of student representation we need! Being friends with Randy makes me so happy and Terri already seems so lovable! Thank you for another amazing update! 💙

loved it, as always! The phone customization and interaction was cool I wasn't expecting it. I love all the little things that hearken back to previous steps/moments. It must take a lot of work so I always love to see it.

Ohhh my... this update gave me ALL the feels! First off, I did some different choices in step 1, and I thought it was so cute that it mentions that you and Liz make sure to play each other's songs that you like! And I was cracking up at how you're given the option to make the MC be such a jerk at times! Like they can be such a stickler for rules even with their friends (lmao I thought they were being sarcastic at first) or they can be so protective of Cove (was not expecting Baxter to be flirting? with Cove but mann I am so excited to see more interactions with the two). It's also really fun to see how different Step 3 Cove is with different warmth levels! And damnnn very warm Cove... BOI you smooth AF omg. I think Drive is one of longest moments so far? So much happens and yeah I was just pterodactyl screeching the entire time GOOD GRIEF IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT AND ADORABLE I have no words gah And as for the feels... yeah, this step feels so relatable it hurts LMAO. Just the feelings of becoming an adult but still feeling like you're a kid, not being sure of what the future holds, and being overwhelmed by everything changing around you... OOF. I think Step 3 is gonna be my favorite Step of the 4 :) Fantastic update as usual! This game never ceases to make me smile like an idiot for hours on end haha. It's honestly such a wonderful, beautiful story and I'm really happy whenever I get to read/play more of it!
Thank you ;v;! It's a relief to see that it's living up to hopes/expectations and that the emotions are there for you. We're doing our best to make it relatable and for the choices to keep coming into play. And yeah, Drive has quite a long script. The rest of the Step 3 Moments do as well, ahah.

Ah! I’m so excited! I will be playing this right away 😌 Update: I love it!! The awkwardness with Baxter’s straight forwardness just about killed me and Cove calling me his girlfriend made me soft 🥺 The moment, Drive, was so nice. Cove trying his hardest to make MC happy by sharing the bed but he couldn’t handle it made me sad :( but I know he’ll be able to do it eventually!! Also; “you’re the only thing I want” LOVED LOVED LOVED.
