Patreon Goal #5 Poll
Hello everybody, there's some very good news! Thanks to all the support we've gotten, our current highest Patreon Goal Tier was hit today. Hooray :D. I can't believe there are this many people backing us. It's amazing.
And this means Our Life will have special CG/cut-in images that do show the MC in-game ★. It'll only be a small part of their body, but we think getting to see the character you create depicted/actually interacting with Cove will be a nice touch.
There will be one image of this type per Step. We've already decided that the Step 1 MC image will be of Cove and the MC touching hands during the Firefly scene. It was that Moment that showed us there was a real interest in getting to see the MC at least a little, so we wanna make it happen there.
But we haven't made a final decision on the Step 2 or 3 images. We'd like you to be able to tell us your thoughts on it.
Image Planning:
So, the first thing to mention is what we think will likely be doable. There's a lot of ways to customize the MC and some types of physical interactions just don't happen in the game. Generally, we can show the one of the MC's hands and whatever part of Cove. One exception could be having the Step 2 version of the first kiss shown.
We can't do the MC kissing Cove on the lips in Step 3 because by then there's way more stuff a person might have on their face; lipstick, piercings, beards, etc. It'd be too much to tackle.
Would it be best to stick with just the MC's hand for consistency throughout or would having one kissing image be important?
We've got a poll to hopefully help get a sense of what people are thinking, but please feel free to comment your thoughts down below. It'd be great to hear them.
Also, since this goal was only possible because of everyone who is a part of the Patreon, we're making the poll about it for all tiers. Usually polls are for $10 patrons and up, though.

Congrats on reaching the goal! Honestly, I knew it was going to happen since a lot people love this game and would be gunning to see the mc interact with Cove. Personally, I'd love to see at least part of the mc interact with Cove everytime we get a chance to touch him, since I feel like that would make the interaction more real and compound some of the impact our choices make in those moments. I understand that that may not be possible, though. And I really want to see the two kiss at some point in the game. My fangirl heart demands it.

Ohmygosh, congratulations, GB Patch! I'm super happy that your team has so many supporters, and that your hard work and dedication to your games and fans received so much recognition to make this possible!! I'm screaming from all these choices and ideas, and no matter which option(s) are chosen, I'm certain that it'll be amazing!

To be honest, I don't care which one I just want whichever one the devs think will be the best choice, I don't want it to get too stressful so I just want what's best. I do like the holding hands ones though, not as much the kiss just because I like to imagine the scenes in my head as I go along either the story, so I always feel immersed into it.

Congrats on reaching the goal! I'm so excited for the cgs. They all sound like they could be good but the idea of Cove kissing my hand like some prince makes me just melt into a puddle. Like others have said I also think it helps with immersion if the cg is from the mc's POV.

Most of those options are fine! Although I'm not sure how a kiss scene could be done without breaking some of the immersion, like ItaLii said above ^^

As much as i want a kissing scene I don't see how it would work out great. Personally i have a short MC, and other people would have beanpole MC's like Cole is and they would each be vastly different due to heights. I'd personally rather either a full on MC sprite or nothing. Whatever happens though it's not enough to make me dislike the game because it's amazing! I think the devs should do what they think is best 😄
Thank you for answering :]. We wouldn't add any image unless it had the alterations it needed to match the different options in the game. We can't add a full MC sprite 'cause there's thousands of possible details. A small part of the body is the only thing that's doable, but it will still have plenty of different versions to match player designs.
Personally I like the idea of MC's hand's interacting with Cove’s head/face as the main focus (or full Cove interacting with MC’s hand), it also helps with immersion, being able to imagine the scene from the MC’s POV. *I saw some people doing suggestions, What about MC POV of Cove holding MC's foot, looking at the anklet they're wearing?

I think I'd like little cut in images the most, holding hands, wiping tears etc. Also id like to suggest a hand on cove's shoulder would be another nice image. Besides, I feel sometimes if it's a big moment and your character doesn't look how you imagine them to be it breaks the immersion slightly.
Agreed! No matter how many customisations one makes- every face has different bone structure, proportions, skin clarity etc... If it's a hand or a strand of hair it would be way easier for it to look exactly how you want, and if not, it wouldn't really bother you!
