OL2: Beta Build 1.5.12 🤒 (PC, Mac, Android)
Happy beta day already! Everybody worked hard to get this finished before my surgery in a couple days and now it's here. The beta adds another full Moment, specifically "Flu Season". I hope all of you are feeling okay today because the MC isn't, haha.
Also, this beta is the first made in a new build version of the engine Ren'py. There shouldn't be huge issues, but if you notice something strange please go ahead and report it.

Screenshots can't be posted, videos can't be uploaded, even discussing what occurs in the events publicly is not allowed and will get your access to future builds revoked.
You can do all of those things within the private GB Patch Discord server or leave your feedback as a comment.

And since we've had some problems in the past with so many people downloading beta builds that they get locked out by Google Drive, I've uploaded mirror builds! If the first ones listed don't work, you can try these.

Or you can bypass the quota by logging in to a Google Drive account, then on the file's download page, click "Add shortcut to Drive" in the upper right corner. Save it to your Drive, then create a new folder, put it inside, and download the folder!
Save files from the prior beta should work in this beta!

I wish you the best for the surgery and recovery! This is a bit unrelated but for anyone who's on mobile, I keep getting a error saying the file is corrupted when downloading it from Drive and I don't know how Dropbox works or what I need to make it work, last time I managed to make Dropbox work but I genuinely don't remember how/I did it randomly until it worked🥲 I did see the explanation on how to do it here on this beta update, I went to drive to do "add shortcut" but it didn't do anything, it's definitely something I'm doing wrong that's for sure.
encountered a glitch during the step 2 Halloween event, if you're with Qiu and you text them, calling them a nerd, the phone stays on the screen and doesn't leave even after you move on.

I think the conversation with Yusuf at the end is lovely but also a bit too difficult to get, since it requires going along with Tamarack and Qiu's matchmaking plan. I feel like one should be able to have that conversation even if they don't go along with the plan, though perhaps with some caveats like having to pick specific dialogue options when talking to Opal (like the one saying that you want Yusuf around, for example). I do understand the decision to lock it behind being upset over the Opal + Yusuf situation, though.

So I'm playing the newest moment and it said Opal calls Yusuf by his first name and I scrolled back and forth a little confused, because she definitely said Yusuf, but isn't his first name Kiyan? 🤔don't know if that was an error, but I wanted to point it out anyway :3

I got the bit of text that said "You remember when Qiu visited, for the first time. Seeing them outside wasnt their original visit today!" Even though I never saw Qiu outside. I came back from the bathroom and both Qiu and Tamarack were in my living room.
After you talk to Yusuf and go outside, there is a line that starts out "You could barely hear them. On top of everything else.." etc, there is an error code (it does let you continue if you ignore it).

I've been so excited for this! And I honestly wasn't expecting it so soon! I hope the surgery goes/went well (I'm a little late to this). I am a little embarrassed to admit I actually pumped my fist into the air and proclaimed "Yes! Be our dad, Yusuf!"

Hello! I always love playing the demo every time it comes out. This time I downloaded it like always and got an error that it needs to be played on a Windows 10 or newer. Is this true? I play on Windows 8 and I'm really sad to see the error since I was not expecting it. I understand if the game needs to be played on newer systems because of advances to the system, but I would like to know for sure if I'll be able to play or if it's over for me for awhile. I can play the last beta just fine.
Hello! I'm sorry to say that in order to keep our engine up to date, the latest version has dropped support for Windows 8. Folks will be able to play OLNF on Windows 10 or above. Please let us know if you have any questions about this, and we apologize for the inconvenience!
When playing Flu Season, the image for Ren's backyard is the same as Tamarack's backyard. Is this an error?

When I try to open the file after I extract it says it is a Virus attack and it closes out the file for the game. It Keeps marking it as a severe threat and removes the play option for the game. I cant figure out how to fix this.

But there's no actual viruses! You can try turning off the scanner before launching the game and then turning it back on later. I'm so blown away omg, I just finished playing all the new moments (it's 3am) and I was laughing and frowning and awwwing and gasping and just so moved by the writing in this step. Especially the Testing moment! Thank you again for creating this masterpiece wow!!
Hiiii! I'm having an issue with the new beta download. When I downloaded it and tried to open it, the program crashed and the whole application file disappeared. When I try to delete it and redownload it, it still doesn't appear. I wanted to know if there's anything I can do to fix it. The last beta still works even if I delete and redownload it, so I assume it's an issue with the new engine build.

I was replaying the update, and my game suddenly crashed and now the game’s icon/the game itself is completely missing from the files
Hello! So sorry to hear about that. It may be due to virus scanners on your device deciding that Python is dangerous. (But there is no risk to you, to be clear!) GB suggests heading to your settings after attempting to open the game, and in the privacy/security section, you may find an option to bypass your security filters and open the game manually.
Sorry I haven't been able to launch the new beta build because when I opened the files I couldn't find the launcher icon. Could anyone help me?
I had an false positive from windows defender to the exe. I deactivated it and was able to play it. But i am posting here to call attetion to it.

im having trouble with the new beta, when i opened the game it crashed and the icon turned into a blank piece of paper that opened the debug log with an error message and now the icon is completely gone and i cant find it anywhere

I'm so excited!! My parents taught me growing up that you should never spend money on something as "silly" as a game, but now that I have my own money, I'm like PLEASE TAKE IT. Your guys' work is so incredible and I could not be happier to support it in any way I can! I've literally been staying up until 3am for the last 2 nights just to replay Step 1 and appreciate it in full (and I just finished the entirety of the 1.4.18 beta an hour ago and had to come see if there was a new beta available—so happy that there is!!!) This new Moment was so good! It really made me remember when I was a kid and being taken care of by my parents when sick :'^] Also I was wondering, I did two playthroughs of this Moment but didn't come across a scene like the screenshot on this post, is it possible to be outside with your friends while sick? And if so what options would allow it, thank you! I hope the surgery goes well too! 🙏

There's one optional scene where they wear masks, but it doesn't happen throughout most of the event.

woah i just finished replaying the game! that's perfect!
I am loving this moment so so much! Legit might be one of my faves. Also, I wish you luck with surgery! I hope you have a swift recovery--hopefully you'll have good people around you just like the MC does in this moment! Some small potential errors (?) I spotted -- If you confess to liking Tamarack, but don't say anything like that to Qiu, narration later on will say "confessing to Tamarack *and* Qiu how much you like them" (although I'm not sure if this is just a fever-hallucination on the MC's part.) Similar problem-- when Yusuf shows up, one response is something along the lines of "No! You'd told Mom not to let anyone in", even if you didn't say anything like that (unless this is implied to have happened in the interim somewhere, or again, be the MC misremembering). Also, and this is a total nitpick-- Opal says visitors have to come one at a time, but the Lins come together. And the final thing I noticed was that if you ask for a blanket from Granny, it'll mention that she also brought socks even if you didn't ask for them. Again, maybe this is down to her just deciding to give them to you regardless lol, but I thought I'd bring it up.

Yes they are- pretty sure the selection screen is gonna be like a scrapbook :] idk if you noticed but the cute icons on the bottom are also able to be dragged! Lol I like to use the dragging feature to plan what order I play the moments in, it's pretty neat ^^
