OL2: Colorful Class Script Preview 3 (Step 1)

“[Austin]’s head was turned around. Her perked-up pigtails did as good a job expressing what she was thinking as her face. [She was fixed on the same scene as you/She was totally fixed on Qiu].” #if close or neighbors
austin “You and Tamarack are neighbors with Qiu, too.”
if not silent:
mc “What?”
austin “You, Autumn, and Tamarack.”
if silent:
“Were the pigtails talking to you now?”

“[Austin] faced forward again. You were the center of her attention now.”
austin “[Are you all friends/Are you friends with him at least]? Do you “like” like Qiu?” #if close with tam or not
“Wait, that was it, the crush talk- from the start of the class! She was bringing it up again out of nowhere.”
“The art project, the test, the lesson, so much had happened since then...”
“You blinked as your deskmate leaned in eagerly.”
if mc admitted crush:
austin “You said who you liked, but I haven’t told you who I have a crush on yet.”
if not:
austin “I’ll say who I have a crush on.”

“Yeeaah, you could guess who it was.”
if admiring:
“She didn’t have to do that for you to know. There was no one else it could be.”

austin “It’s Qiu! That’s who I like in the class. He’s really cute and so funny. The other boys are boring.”

“Of course [Austin] liked Qiu.”
if admiring:
“Exactly. You weren’t the only one who could tell Qiu stood above the rest.”

if mc boy and not unpopular/disliked in school:
austin “Sorry, [first_name]. I didn’t mean you.”

“Joey’s offense was obvious. He slammed back in his chair and glowered at the side of [Austin]’s face, all while she flat out ignored it. Tamarack wasn’t his sole enemy anymore.”
austin “Austin and Autumn are spelled really similar, so we’re a match!”
joey “Well you better get in line.”
“A taunting grin split Joey’s face. He flicked his fingers towards the actual line that existed to chat with Mr. Lin.”

Damn my MC wille be SO NERVOUS about this whole situation... Though I guess it's better of him biting or something in Step 2!
Love this because of the Angst XD In a way it reminds of when I was in high-school and I liked this guy, my friend also liked this guy but there is a huge difference. She said it to our friend group and I said it to no one. She (or any other person in our group) knew about my crush and I'm not a asshole, so I kept those feelings for myself, because it doesn't matter (to me) who gets the feelings first if the person with the crush admits it before I ever did and I was the only one knowing I liked someone. She didn't know. I remember after a while I eventually told her and she was really happy, but not because I backed down (as things never really developed between the two) but because she never met a friend this respectful. It made me kinda happy because to me it wasn't really that much or a big deal, like, yes I liked him but she was my friend and she admitted it when I never said it, so she didn't know I liked him too. Past forward we are still good friends, probably each other best friends.
Either way, memories aside with this Austin girl depending on how close I am in game to her and if I like her then I will either be sad/jealous or won't mind too much always for my rule of "if you say it first and I didn't say it to no one then I'll back down" (to this rule there are some exceptions though, but not disrespectful ones to my friend, however it's not the place to talk about it and I already shared too much XD)

The 5d Chess maneuver would be for the MC to use Uno Reverse and say they have a crush on Austin, lol.
Guuuuuunna punch them. both of them. My MC isn't interested in Qiu in any way other than as a friend but clearly, these two are being obnoxious and that's one thing my girl doesn't tolerate.
Had this game been set in the Winter time, there would have been a full class staying after school after the brawl broke out over who likes Qiu more.... 🤕😤🥴🫣 Valentine's Day must have been a doozy!
I really hope we get to know what Qiu's Valentine's Day looks like xD At least told to us like a legend.

I love imagining all the MCs reacting to this differently. I wonder if Joey has a crush on Austin? That would be pretty painful to experience 😂 Also Austin liking how their names match (even though it’s a nickname, go off little girlie 😂) is such a Tamarack move
I wonder, for this moment we'd be able to say if our MC is popular/ liked or not in school? I know what it's like to be at the bottom of the ladder of popularity, but I've also had a lot of people who were nice to me when other people weren't around. Popularity's a fickle thing.
My guess is it could be determined by how social you are with kids, stuff like that but it would be interesting to mix it up and not know how to be popular even if you try to be nice

I feel like years down the line when the young adults of Golden Grove are asking each other about their first crushes there’s going to be some popular sentiment to the effect of “Yeah yeah we all liked Qiu Lin, they don’t count, who else?”
Already feel like this moments/scenes gonna be a mixed bag of emotions for my mc n stuff, gonna be so fun none the less 😂

They're fighting over Qiu meanwhile I'm sitting there going :T because I've been planning my wedding with Tamarack since we first met
