OL2: Step 2 Prologue Screenshots
There's a lot more you'll get to do with your own character once the full Step 2 prologue exists. One example is getting to come out about a change in your gender or pronouns within the story itself!

Will this happen as a result setting your gender and pronouns as different from step 1 in the set up screen, or will doing it there skip this as a sort of 'you already came out' kind of thing?
If you change your details on the screen you'll get the choice to have done it during the years in between Steps or that you need to come out right now in the prologue!
Awe!!! This is gonna be so therapeutic. When I was in highschool and initially realized I didn’t identify with my assigned gender I didn’t have many people that would listen to me, so getting to have this in game is truly amazing!! Thank you so much for allowing us to have these moments we didn’t get in real life 💕

Question? Can Mc's be insecure about being intersex (whether or not they settled on what they identify as), and have been trying to work up the courage to tell Qiu and Tamarack, (obviously they'd be accepting of it.) I dunno I thought it work well with my mc who is very timid and insecure with herself, to the point of rarely speaking, deep down she knows her friends won't treat her any different from before, but is afraid of a worst case scenario. Take this with a grain of salt as I can't relate to this irl. Edit: Crap I just realized the qna was literally yesterday.
It's alright. You can have feelings about that but I don't know exactly how and when it will happen or what specifically can be said.
If the MC is not ready yet to come out, at least to the general public, is there an option to set who the MC had come out to, like how the nickname system works? For example, the MC might be more comfortable to tell Tamarack's Omi and Opa, than they may be to her parents. After all, the MC had four full years of getting to know/trust Granny and the senior Mr. Baumann (I've no idea if the MC would be allowed to call the older Mr. Baumann 'Gramps' or 'Grandpa' at Stage 2 or not), but only had seen the younger Mr. and Mrs. Baumann once in a while over that time when they came to Golden Grove to visit Tamarack.
No, I'm sorry. It'd become too complicated to only have you out to some people and have to track that with a large cast over characters over a long script. You're either fully out to the entire town or not out at all yet.

Will there be an option for the Mc to not be ready to come out? Like let's say they start identifying a little differently but they don't want to tell people yet (either cause they're unsure or something else)? Very excited about this coming out option though for sure!
I'm afraid not, at least not in this same way. You can go by a different nickname instead of your first name as a subtle sign of changing your identity like Ren does. However, there won't be this kind of conversation at the start of the prologue for that. This interaction only happens if you come out with a different gender or pronouns and people need to know about it because you want to identify that way. There will be scenes to talk about your identity more broadly and you can hint then that you're unsure or in the closet, but that'd be at a different part of the story.
This makes me so happy!! Being able to come out to people on screen and see their reactions was something I really missed in the first game <3
