Resident Evil 2 Remake Five Years Later
2024 marks the fifth anniversary of Resident Evil 2 Remake! I know, hard to believe. Today I'll be taking a look back at this monumental best seller with fresh eyes; RE-examine gameplay, story, and seeing how I feel about five years later!

Really enjoyed your video, nice work. I kinda bounced off RE2-make; it felt really technically impressive, but I was also disappointed by the lack of an updated scenario system that incentivized second/third/fourth playthroughs. I grew up with the N64 edition and I was absolutely OBSESSED with unlocking every notebook scrap and cutscene possible. Knowing that I wasn't getting the whole story unless I finished it multiple times in a row, under a certain time limit, and only using so many healing items, drove me to spend a lot of weekends on building a memory card full of save files. I'm glad GOG has brought back the original versions of these classics, but I do wonder why this kind of design approach has been dropped. Imagine a RE2-make that gave you a second scenario where the decisions you made in the first one shaped the resources, allies, and threats you faced. Drool!
This was a very nice surprise to see (fresh off of revisiting Tekken 5 again after so many years :D) considering how RE2R is the very game that made me a fan of the series in the first place so it's great to see you covering this game again. Despite that, I never got round to finishing that Ghost Survivors bonus mode but now you've reminded me to not just finish that but also replay Leon and Claries campaigns so thank you! Also I just wanted to say thank you for staying true to your content all this time, whilst also refining the formula. It's been great to see the improvements of your videos over time especially in the past couple years. A lot of creators who cover video games are pretty good at this actually and you are one of them so please keep it up because I love to see this. I look forward to whatever comes next and I hope the rest of the year goes well for you. :)
