If nothing else at least Belgium gave us Baldur’s Gate 3…
How empires still get glorified despite being built on institutionalized sexual abuse and psychopathy is beyond me.
Because we’re still being fed false narratives about what Colonialism and Imperialism actually looked like for the vast majority of people. History in general has been obsessed with the lot of the wealthy and powerful since time immemorial, because those are the people who’ve had the privlege of controlling the narrative. The average person isn’t going out of their way to educate themselves, and so they settle for the mainstream narrative. The one most comfortable for the colonizers to digest. That needs to change. History as taught in schools needs to stop being an abridged ‘greatest hits’ of digestible conflicts and start being about the truth.
Tom's mickey mouse ass laugh to the super soaker flame thrower
If you want to experience what this landing must have been like, imagine a grueling Arma op but you can only communicate in the War Thunder "Attack the D Point!"
In defense of judgement based on birthplace, Riverside is terrible and so is everyone I've meet from Riverside.
I used to laugh at other people complaining about Joe's pronunciations of place names... Until he visited that violence upon Tamil Nadu. Dear God..
I got stung buy a nest of mud daubers last week about 20 times. I was running around the yard like Kermit the frog
My fear of bees comes from The X-Files lol
More like Honey Nut Clarity
THE PAIN
My mom and her sister used to create bee grenades by catching bees in plastic Easter eggs and then throwing them at people. I think both sides of this conflict really missed out on an opportunity here.
That sounds like a war crime.
I think that a bonus series on the Monday Night Wars as a tongue in cheek military campaign would actually quite fun.
Had a similar beencounter to what Nate described. Can second the involuntary urge to twitch and / or swear when one flies too close. Also, nobody knows as much bee-related information (outside of entomologists / apiarists) as someone who does not like bees lol
I'll always miss Nick and Rich, but Nate and Tom are great co-hosts. Currently blowing fat vape clouds in your honour boys.
I just wanna clarify a couple details about Roger Casement, who documented the Belgian murder and abuse in the Congo, and is one of my favorite Historical figures. 1)His school was not a public school, and he was educated in Ireland. His mom died when he was 9 and his dad died when he was 12. His formal education officially stopped at 15 cos there wasn't enough money. 2)He was hanged for treason due to his role in leading the Easter Rising, not sodomy or gross indecency. It's said that the placement of a single comma in the law he was convicted under was what decided his guilt. 3) He was a bottom, and a size queen. His Black Diaries make it clear his interests were getting pounded by VERY large dick. I've read a good bit of them. He was a ravenous power bottom with a tendency toward overwork and an uneasy relationship with the government he worked for, causing him to eventually leave his job and work against the colonial system he'd originally been a part of. I just want him to be remember for who he was--a thoughtful, smart, idealistic dude who loved big dick.
Roger Casement: the father of Human Rights I just got through a 2-part on Shite Talk: An Irish History Podcast on him and learned he also uncovered human rights abuses in South America following his time in the Congo.
Imagine being one of those plantation workers. You're watching the battle from the city, seeing alllll your beehives get smashed
I got stung by a wasp once. Ended up with half of my leg swollen and purple and green. Had to go to the ER. It ended up being gangrene, and I would have been septic if I had waited another day. Tldr: fuck bees.
That wasn't even a bee! Don't slander them because of something a wasp did.
The parrot has shades of the 2nd Pacific Squadron. If it started swearing in Russian it might even be the same one.
Question from the Legion: Joe what’s your opinions/hot takes on the ongoing 6-part Behind the Bastards series on Vince McMahon?
https://youtu.be/nlIQ2KCYG7Y
My favorite part of this, is how y’all talk about wwe and Vince McMahon the same week as Robert evans starts a 1.5 month long series on Vince lmao.
Tom with the Halo 3 reference!
Nick and rich are busy with their mil careers I think. Liam, idk. Nothing against him personally but I enjoy the vibes from Francis Tom and nate way more
Liam has been a great sidekick for the episodes that demand some righteous indignation. Yay Liam.
Not that I don’t love Nate and Tom, where’s Nick, Rich, Francis, or Leum? I haven’t heard their voices in so long I’ve been listening to old series lol
Liam is a part of WTIYP and has his own shows so he is probably too busy to show up on a regular basis.
Behind the Bastards just started a 6 part series on history’s greatest monster Vince McMahon lol
Ah vorbeck , a monster who told hitler to fuck himself to his face and lived , what a weird enigma of empire .
