BONUS EPISODE: The Battle of Haçova

Nate emerges from a vat of paprikas boykibble to take the reins and bring us the story of The Battle of Haçova, a decisive clash between the Habsburgs and the Ottomans, the implications of the Hamburger Helper Mascot, and Smurf racism.

Fun story about Frank Zappa, he let house guests sleep with not in the kids bed but WITH his children. Zappa was def a spook or spook adjacent. Literally grew up on a base famous for psy ops and weird events. I have trouble separating him from the art because if half is true about FZ, then he is one of the biggest scum bags in music history and that says a lot.

I completely feel the reverse seasonal affected disorder. When spring finally breaks, I get so happy that winter is leaving and then have a massive crash. The seasonal struggle is real.

Given I get thrown a lot of food videos on YouTube, I'm surprised I've never run across the term "Boy Kibble" before now. However it's a perfect description of it. "Girl kibble" would be some awful abomination involving kale, seeing as women tend to go down the raw vegan route.

I don’t know if anyone mentioned it as a critique for prior episodes but I’m really happy that Nate has slowed down his narrating pace. Some prior episodes were really hard to follow but this was much much easier to digest.

It's precious that they think Mścisław isn't also a name prominently found in Polish medieval history. ;) And the "Jan Zamojski" bit falls very flat when you're Polish. Because that's a high-aristocratic surname which for pretty much all of us* Polish folk screams "inbred condescending snob bastard with a really punchable face". The name "Zamojski" comes from the city of Zamość and it's environs this family owned until the fall of the Kingdom of Poland during the Partition era. And the city was founded from the ground up as a personal and direct fiefdom of the inbred gaggle of fail(upwards)lords. When Joe talks about how much life sucked for the average Russian serf, their Polish counterparts aren't faring much better under the heel of aristocratic shits like this one. So we get the mindset they got this bit from, but it doesn't really translate into our history very well. * Except maybe the tiny fetid swamp of quasi-royalist nazi shitlords who just like the nobility they cosplay as think of themselves as the master race of "sarmatians". The pre-partition "golden age" era nobility literally invented a separate racial identity for themselves, and found the serf Slavs literally subhuman and by divine mandate destined to subservience. P.S. We're always giggling at their pronounciation of Mścisław. It's so silly and fun for us we can't even think of correcting them.

I'm with Nate how did this episode get so gross? From Hungarian sour cream bukkake to Joe's foreskin jacket listening to this is like a dive into the psyche of a repressed English noblemen from the period. Is this what the sun does to people in Europe? Do we need to turn winter back on over there?
