History of Armenia: The Life and Death of the First Republic: Part 1

After generations of Imperial dominance, in the aftermath of the Armenian Genocide and the Russian Revolution, the Armenian people attempt to create their first modern Nation state. Beset by a massive influx of Genocide refugees, infighting, and the encroaching Imperial goals of the new Turkish and Soviet states, this is the story of the Short Life and Death of the First Armenian Republic.

Loving this series within a series. Provides a lot of context and detail that's not easily found just reading about the First Republic etc. on the internet.

Also, Dr. Wyman has mentioned he will be talking about the sources he uses for Past Lives. I was wondering if you would consider doing something similarly. As you are a genocide scholar, I would be interested in hearing about how you select your sources, how you separate fact from fiction and/or author bias, etc. Thanks.

Joe, your podcasts about Armenia have been incredible and deeply moving. You have mentioned your Armenian translation skills are limited. Looking at your sources....do you use any primary Armenian sources in your research: use translation software or maybe Ani to help?

Thank you for your support. Dr. Richard Hovannisian is considered one of the most important scholars about the Armenian first republic in any language
