Houston born and raised and Nate makes me feel SEEN. By this point Nate should be considered an Honorary Houstonian

A
Alexander Sokol · October 12, 2025

If I herd this right does this mean joe is a feet guy? Not shaming just shocked he finally admitted it.

J
Just a Fish · October 11, 2025

Also, auspicious Final Fantasy Tactics references, with yet another recent re-release.

J
Just a Fish · October 11, 2025

While there's no single source of truth for "Hoosier" I prefer the story of a bar fight coming to a close, and someone holding up a severed ear and shouting "who's ear?"

S
SpookyPenguin · October 11, 2025

Nate are you thinking of the nine inch richards closer to hogs parody of nin closer, there's a deadpan yee haa in that

A
Al · October 20, 2025

Not me scouring the comments for the answer 👀 😂

I bet burning bush smoked ribs snapped back in the day...

J
Jake Rawls · October 11, 2025

My daily commute involves going down the 26 lanes (not 19) of I-10 through Houston (technically Katy). It's as annoying and soul-sucking as you think it is.

I've had to drive that a few times and it was enough to convince me to stay in Centex

U

Nah but for real yee-woop goes hard

M

Can attest to everyone becoming a foraging goblin when out on a field-ex. Finding wild raspberries in a bush next to where we set up the gun team was always fun. Laying down sustained fire, feeding a belt into a GPMG and scarfing down fruit was a weird mix of activities 🤣

Yeeeeeeeehaw

N
NowhereMan661 · October 6, 2025

I'm now imagining a dude with the thickest southern drawl you ever done hear singing the Red Army song "Army of the People".

J
Jeremy Roman · October 6, 2025

Centrifugal Horse. That is all

P
Peter Cerny · October 6, 2025

I would appreciate you mentioning how many parts there are all together. I like to listen to them all at one sitting and it's not obvious to me if the series is finished yet. Is it 2/2?

J
Just a Fish · October 11, 2025

They mentioned 4 parts in the first episode, but that could have changed.

K
Kaiju and Chill · October 6, 2025

I appreciate the Jack Burton 'Pal' Nate threw out.

Wouldn’t Santa Anna be a foot guy (singular)?

B
Brendan Bonner · October 6, 2025

I did ancestry.com and found my 4th cousin was a captain in the American cavalry and helped capture Santa Ana’s leg. They used his leg to play baseball with it in the first baseball game played in Mexico. He later went on to serve with Sherman in his March to the Sea.

A

Where's Rich?

N
Noblese Oblahaj · October 6, 2025

Texan Gaara using a stream of chili from the gourd on his back to break Santa Anna's leg

R
Rylan May · October 6, 2025

My entire family went to MSU. I did not. West by God Virigina. The only state to succeed from the Confederacy.

N
Noblese Oblahaj · October 6, 2025

I'll take West Virginia over MSU any day. Parts of West Virginia are pretty nice, and they have one of the largest species of salamander in the world

N
Noblese Oblahaj · October 6, 2025

A tramp stamp that says 'come and take it" but 'take it' is tattooed on the inside of opposite ass cheeks and you only see it when they spread

H

The Beaumonts are legitimately a good band to hatch out of TX. Toby Keith is the ugliest woman I have ever seen and if you don't love the Lord you're fucking fucked. Now, I think I deserve a fucking drink cause Friday nights ain't been the same since we gave up on cocaine and started smoking speed out of a lightbulb.

Imagining tejano Bubbles stuck in the mesquite thicket

W
William Shackelford · October 6, 2025

Texas limit break is just oiled up and heavily lathered in lard on barbecue that animates into golems.

W
William Shackelford · October 6, 2025

Not Joe dropping a full metal alchemist joke. That made me laugh way too hard.

Oh the Bowie knife, the the knife that a cowboy stabbed Dracula in the heart with. Working with a solicitor who decapitated The vampire with a kukuri. And this is from the original Dracula book from 1890s.

A
Al · October 6, 2025

Just want to say I love your profile picture

B
Brandon P · October 6, 2025

The intro reminds me of the war banner from the English civil war that depicts a lamb poking its head out of a barrel with the words "Cvckholds VVe Come" stitched above it.

G
Gil the Gilded Dragon · October 6, 2025

One remembers suddenly that the people fighting there were like 16, & one gets hit with the "oh right people are roughly the same anywhere" In the north sentinel island they undoubtedly make jokes about much the same

G
Gil the Gilded Dragon · October 6, 2025

Really no quips about the town of Fat Bush? Mezquite looks a lot like a Thorn tree for you europlaced folk. A lot a lot like black thorn but instead of berries it has pea pods. Looks nothing like juniper. The northeastern chaparral has juniper too. (I have a 100 year old mezquite living out back, it is covered in tropical mistletoe) If you shame a horse successfully they fucking die of Fulminating Equine Esophagal Thrombosis

B
Brandon P · October 6, 2025

Horses do love to be dying cuz someone used the "clean oven" setting.

B
Brendan Hurley · October 6, 2025

Dropping bars about 19th Century Texans call that Quincy Morris flow

a
anarchist Mando · October 6, 2025

Oh my God, I wasn't the only one who thought of that immediately. The Texas cowboy in Dracula It's still the funniest fucking thing in that 1890s book
