If anyone’s wondering why EA got shitcanned a month or two ago it’s because their most recent BioWare game was basically this movie by way of Fortnite with some fantasy skins slapped on and it went about as badly as you can imagine.
As someone from a part of the East Cost with mobs of rude and entitled cyclists in expensive cycling gear and enough money to afford cycling along the Hudson instead of being at work during the day, I disagree about Americans on bikes. We’re plenty rude on those, too.
My school watched this every year. For some reason. The teacher skipped the sex scene.

RE: 9/11 musicals, in 2005 my local community theater put on a production of Godspell, a bible musical from the 70's that is commonly staged in different settings (playground, circus, the future). This theater set the show in the RUINS OF THE TWIN TOWERS and after the Act I closer PLAYED A SOUND EFFECT OF A PLANE HITTING A BUILDING. The theater closed shortly after.
I’ve always assumed that the worst possible world was some kind of Stalinist Germany. Somehow, this is worse.

Okay. Re: Transformers. We're people really expecting a cinematic master piece with these movies? It's literally just giant robots fighting with a human subplot. Hopefully the newer ones take notes from GodzillaxKong; we don't need a lot of human elements. Just give us giant things fighting.
People weren't necessarily expecting cinematic masterpieces, but the juvenile humour, sexism, and racism were a surprise.
You guys should do an episode about the movie The Wolfhound. It's such a hilariously bad WW2 movie. It came out in 2020 but looks like it was made in the 80's.

I'd like to nominate the sex scene from the movie Passchendaele as worst sex scene in a war movie... We were made to watch that in my highschool Canadian History class and even though its been 15 years, I'm still not over it.

I've just looked up Worst of All Possible Worlds, and while I'm a bit disappointed to see that a bunch of the episodes I'm most interested in require a Patreon subscription, there IS an episode about Blasphemous 2 with Tom that I am IMMEDIATELY listening to. I'll never forgive whoever made up the term "metroidvania". It's SEARCH ACTION. Most Castlevania games aren't even LIKE THAT; it was just popularized by Symphony of the Night!

Pearl Harbor was the Pearl Harbor of the millennials. I remember watching this and Raimi's Spiderman
The conversation about involving a story steeped in racial context only half way reminds me so much of the Tuskegee in Masters of the Air. Like checking a box as far as representation goes.
Masters of the Air felt like a really uneven series. The major air battles early in the series were good, as was some of the France stuff, but I really didn't connect to most of the characters well enough for the bit where everyone was imprisoned to pay off.
The U.K. show Skins had an episode about Osama! The Musical that, if I’m remembering correctly, was extraordinarily hilarious.
Everytime I have to engage with this movie, either directly by watching it or indirectly through podcasts, I'm reminded just how much I despise it.
Will say though, Joe's energy with the WOAPW crew was so good that I'm really looking forward to that episode in January
