A fabulous time had by all~

my god, the last three days have been a total blur, but what a ride! My and the crew from couch quests were preparing a show with nearly 50 RSVPS!!!!

I had to put the finishing touches on Overlay Racers, which ill be dropping on itch.io soon. This was the bonus game i was making for the episode. as soon as i sent it off, we drove down to the studio to set up the stage, lighting, and wiring. Meanwhile, i was practicing my lines and running through the show over and over.

On shoot day, we realized how woefully unprepared we were for the huge amount of sign ups. We set up every chair in the studio, and it wasn't nearly enough. We had to steal them from a classroom upstairs--and then, the chairs wouldn't fit in the studio!!!! We had our cameras pressed all the way against the back walls and had to scoot our computer set up further back just to make room. There was just enough time to wire up the guests with microphones, do a quick run through, put on my makeup, and before I knew it, the audience was getting to their seats, and Nate was signaling to me that we were live! I probably wouldn't have been nervous if we werent just rushing everywhere hahaha.

It was a very fun experience, and I'm so thankful to all the folks who know me and came by. Thanks to our guests Justin, Connor, Lucas, and Audrey,
The crew, Nate, Jacquay, Ash, crewmember Lucas, and cookie guy andrew!
and special shoutout to Michaela, Eden, Vanny, Majestica, and Angie for stopping by and saying hi!!!

Bonus: Wan-Wan Wash is blowing up on itchio?

Um, excuse me????

For reasons i genuinely don't understand, while i was working on couch quests, wan-wan wash became insanely popular. You can see that initial little bump after August is the initial surge from when it was published, and i was sharing the game with you guys and my audience. but on August 10th, it SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS up, and im getting thousands of plays PER DAY. I came home last night to almost 200 new followers on itchio. WHAT?!?!

From what little i can discern, wan-wan wash is showing up on some regularly-visited page on itchio, and people are clicking on it like crazy (that 1.87% Click-through-rate is unusually high). But all the reference links aren't really helping me figure out where the traffic is coming from.

Is it because its mobile friendly? is it because its dogs? is it because the thumbnail is cute?! I'm FLUMMOXED. But in any case, it's a nice treat!

What's Next?

I'm gonna write and shoot a video, pass it off to my friend Nate to edit, and then use the last few days im here in Boston to work on Bug Boy Summer. I'll be flying out on the 18th. I don't know how much downtime i'll have while on the job, but im bringing the gamemaker file with me just in case.

Thank you guys again for your support in person and wherever you are in the world... here's your sign-off joke!

Q: What do you call a bug that likes to hang out by windows?

A: A Glasshopper!
