August Vote Winner!!!

Hey guys! the polls for August's game officially closed last night, and HERE are the results...

amazing! This month there were 107 votes, which is almost double the votes for July. Very likely this was because i was able to post more freely this month and actually tell folks the voting was happening.

I want to give you a more direct breakdown of how our new ranked choice voting system  was implemented. Now, instead of everyone voting for one option, you can rank your top three!

Essentially, I wanted your top pick to be worth 3 points, your second top pick to be worth 2, and your third top to be worth 1. I was able to generate a spreadsheet from google form responses, and then wrote a formula that counted the responses in each category!

i made a little instagram post breaking down the final point tally of each game idea:

as you can see, tropical fairy adventure game was very close! as i mentioned before, the runner up will always get a chance to come back for next month, so let's see how it does in September~

finally, here's the total breakdowns for everyone's vote by each ranking:

its much harder with this system to tell who wins at a glance. it is kind of interesting to note that stronger preferences tend to show up in the first pick, and by the time we get to third pick, the games even out a lot more.

Having data like this is really cool! I know if i'm ever having a tough time coming up with new game ideas, its nice to know i could go back and pick some very popular ideas that just didn't get the chance they deserved :D

That's all for now! until Thursday, I'm going back and forth between my place and CCTV studios in cambridge setting up for the game show i'm hosting. I'm also putting the finishing touches on the game that will be featured in one of the segments, which i call "overlay racers". Here's how it's looking so far!

After we film, im going straight into recording a short video and working on bug boy summer. It's gonna be a race to the finish, but so far i'm ON TRACK to getting everything done before i leave for amusement work~

Thank you all for your continued support, here's your sign-off joke!
