Mermay, rooms and rooms!

Hey folks, the mermaid game is chugging along. I'm trying not to panic too much about getting behind, since I know that this game is definitely the most ambitious I've worked on so far, but I don't like missing deadlines! I've been trying to figure out a way to talk about the progress of the game without spoiling things for folks who want to play it blind, and here's what I can share: The game features 6 distinct regions that are gradually unlocked: The Palace Exterior, The Main Hallway, The Library, The Gardens, The Chambers, and The Tower. I won't talk too much about what exactly is in these rooms, but I can tell you which have been completed, so you have a good idea of the progress that's being made. Right now, I have finished the Palace Exterior and the Main Hallway. After all the rooms are done, I will also be adding a title screen and an ending credits sequence.

I'm looking forward to talking in much more detail about the game after it releases and everyone has a chance to try it, but anyway, look forward to more updates as I knock out these rooms!

Below is an image of the hallway with all the objects in it. You can see in the margins the sheer amount of unique objects that are in this one room, each with their own sprites and behaviors. I didn't exactly anticipate how much art would be necessary to complete this ;_; Not that I mind making a bunch of cute pixel art, but, you know.
