Some news... did mini-mini-mini golf succeed?
The course for mini-mini-mini golf has been finished!
That was a close one.
A couple of days ago, I brought the game out to Gulu-Gulu Cafe for a small playtest. The game was enjoyed by a few patrons who waited for their drinks, and I got a surprise drop in from Claire, who is a follower of the channel! in case you missed it, there will be one more playtest on March 31st from 5:30 - 9:00PM
I am honestly shocked that it went so well. The players genuinely enjoyed the experience (and were impressed with the course!)
There are still some embellishments that I want to add, and I want to bring the course out to as many gatherings as possible in March so I can get footage of folks trying the game out, but the project has effectively wrapped! But now that I'm on the other side of this, I had to contend with a dissatisfying truth...
This isn't really the "free game for everybody" I promised.
In my initial pitch video, I did mention that I wasn't yet able to come up with a good way to share mini-mini-mini golf, and I still haven't. Everything in the game is made of repurposed materials, and made by hand. It's not print and play, there aren't even templates I can share for someone to exactly replicate the project. As a result, it doesn't feel right to say that this is a true "free for everybody" game, since you can only play it if you are in the Boston area. I'm still glad that I made it of course, it was a TON of fun and ultimately an experiment worth doing, but ultimately, I think I still owe you guys a game.
What does this mean?
At some point later in the year, I'm gonna squeeze in an extra video game, one of my classic offerings that can be played in a browser by folks regardless of whether they are local to me. I promised my subscribers 12 free games, and I want to hit that goal by the end of the year!
So that's all for now. I'm getting straight to work on the video for Masquerade (formerly Romantic Dinner Party), the video on black women game creators, and then the follow up video for this game. Then it's jumping into April's project, which I'm very excited for!
Thanks again for following and supporting. Here's your sign-off joke:
Q: What has a bottom at the top of it?
A: A leg!

You're doing great!!Careful not to shift your goal posts too far ahead of your accomplishments (I hear where you're coming from 100% but from one 'well-that-one-didnt-count goal finisher to another; celebrate all the victories not just the
ones that meet your technical criteria ;) Also THANK YOU for the joke! This is a perfect one to share with my kiddo
daaang terry~ you are a machine!!
I'm so glad it was successful!!
Maybe call it digi mini mini golf? 😄
I would love to play a digital version of mmmg!
It’s so cute! I’m glad the first play test went well. To make this one a free game for everyone, you could always write up a little free tutorial! Explain the steps to make some mini mini courses and how to play and all that. Then it’s like a craft project pattern! No need to overwork yourself with another game later in the year 💛
this is essentially what I'll be doing in the video, but I think I still want to make another game.
